La jefa de Estado llegó hasta la zona, donde recibió la explicación por parte del ministro de Vivienda, Construcción y Saneamiento, Durich Whittembury, sobre el avance de estas obras que tienen por objetivo fortalecer la seguridad de los vecinos.
Los trabajos en dicha zona se llevan a cabo en el marco del Programa Nuestras Ciudades (PCN), el cual tiene programado realizar un total de 39 intervenciones en la región Lima, de las cuales 16 han sido ejecutadas a la fecha, en beneficio de más de 108 mil pobladores que ahora están más seguros.
En el caso del río Chillón, el Ministerio de Vivienda también ha intervenido en los sectores Huaca Las Culebras, en Ventanilla; Cruz de Motupe, en Comas, así como Puente Ensenada y Puente Las Lomas de Chillón, en San Martín de Porres, donde ha removido más de 29 mil metros cúbicos de sedimentos.
Para tal efecto, desplazó diversas maquinarias, como volquetes, excavadoras hidráulicas, cargadores frontales y tractores.
Además, continúa trabajando en los sectores Puente Gambeta, en el Callao; Brisas del Malecón Chillón, en Comas; Asociación Chuquitanta y San Diego, en San Martín de Porres, y Faja Marginal Izquierda del río Chillón, en Los Olivos.
