Durante la ceremonia, llevada a cabo en la explanada del Ministerio del Interior (Mininter), el mandatario subrayó: “Al dotar de recursos a nuestra Policía Nacional, estamos fortaleciendo la protección de nuestros ciudadanos y cimentando las bases para un Perú más seguro. La Policía desempeña un rol esencial en la restauración de la paz y el orden público, y es imperativo que cuente con las herramientas más avanzadas para llevar a cabo su labor”.

En este contexto, el Gobierno formalizó la entrega de 123,534 unidades de indumentaria policial, fabricadas por 178 micro y pequeñas empresas (mypes), con una inversión que supera los S/ 21 millones, en el marco del Programa Nacional Compras a MYPErú del Ministerio de la Producción (Produce). Este programa no solo impulsa la economía local, sino que también asegura la provisión de equipamiento de alta calidad para las fuerzas del orden.

Más de 56,000 agentes de la PNP recibirán casacas, chalecos y correajes diseñados para optimizar su desempeño en tareas de seguridad ciudadana. Esta iniciativa no solo fortalece la capacidad operativa de la Policía Nacional, sino que también fomenta un ciclo económico virtuoso, donde la producción nacional se alinea con la seguridad ciudadana.

Adicionalmente, el Mininter formalizó la entrega de 2,282 fusiles de asalto y recibió una donación de 4,000 chalecos antibalas nivel III-A por parte de la Embajada de la República Popular China. Esta colaboración internacional subraya la importancia de la cooperación en la lucha contra el crimen.

“Quiero destacar los logros alcanzados mediante la colaboración interinstitucional y la cooperación internacional. Agradezco a las mypes por su contribución en la confección de indumentaria y a la República Popular China por su valiosa donación. Nos une una historia milenaria y un compromiso compartido en la lucha contra la delincuencia. La Policía Nacional cuenta con el respaldo firme de este gobierno en su combate contra la criminalidad”, enfatizó el Presidente Jerí.

El jefe de Estado también instó al Mininter a evaluar la derogación del Plan Nacional de Seguridad Ciudadana vigente, argumentando la necesidad de implementar estrategias actualizadas y adaptadas a los desafíos contemporáneos en materia de seguridad.

“Debemos trascender los planes teóricos y adoptar enfoques pragmáticos que respondan a la realidad actual y proyecten una visión de futuro”, afirmó. Asimismo, anunció la inminente adquisición de equipamiento adicional para la PNP, con el objetivo de optimizar su capacidad de respuesta y fortalecer sus intervenciones contra la criminalidad.

“Reitero mi agradecimiento a la Policía Nacional por su incansable labor en las calles, reforzando la seguridad y contribuyendo a la tranquilidad de nuestra población”, concluyó.

En la ceremonia también estuvieron presentes el Ministro del Interior, Vicente Tiburcio Orbezo; el Ministro de la Producción, César Quispe Luján; el Comandante General de la PNP, Óscar Arriola Delgado; y representantes de la Embajada de la República Popular China.

More than 56,000 National Police officers will receive jackets, vests, and belts designed to optimize their performance in public safety duties. The Head of State also urged the Ministry of the Interior to evaluate the repeal of the current National Citizen Security Plan, arguing the need to implement updated strategies adapted to contemporary security challenges.

“We must move beyond theoretical plans and adopt pragmatic approaches that respond to the current reality and project a vision for the future,” he stated. He also announced the imminent acquisition of additional equipment for the National Police, with the aim of optimizing its response capacity and strengthening its interventions against crime.

“I reiterate my gratitude to the National Police for their tireless work on the streets, reinforcing security and contributing to the peace of mind of our population,” he concluded.

Also present at the ceremony were the Minister of the Interior, Vicente Tiburcio Orbezo; the Minister of Production, César Quispe Luján; the General Commander of the Peruvian National Police (PNP), Óscar Arriola Delgado; and representatives from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.
