La renovación de la flota vehicular es una pieza clave en el proceso de modernización iniciado en 2024 y fortalecido en el presente año. La ATU ha desempeñado un papel fundamental al otorgar títulos habilitantes a los operadores, proporcionando estabilidad jurídica y facilitando el acceso a financiamiento para la adquisición de nuevas unidades.

David Hernández, presidente ejecutivo de la ATU, destacó que “Lima cuenta con más de 500 buses nuevos incorporados al sistema de transporte público. La renovación de la flota es fundamental para ofrecer un mejor servicio y avanzar hacia un transporte más moderno, seguro y ordenado”.

Hasta la fecha, la ATU ha otorgado títulos habilitantes para 452 rutas, lo que ha impulsado la formalización del transporte público y promovido la incorporación de vehículos modernos, más limpios y seguros.

INCENTIVOS PARA LA SOSTENIBILIDAD

La ATU ofrece incentivos para la sostenibilidad, permitiendo a las empresas de transporte renovar sus rutas por cinco años. Además, se ofrece la posibilidad de ampliar este período hasta 13 años si reemplazan su flota por unidades a GNV, y hasta 19 años si migran hacia tecnologías híbridas o eléctricas, fomentando así un sistema de transporte más ecoamigable.

CARACTERÍSTICAS DE LAS NUEVAS UNIDADES

Las más de 500 unidades ya operan en diversas rutas de Lima Norte, Centro, Este y Sur, beneficiando a más de 10 millones de usuarios. Estos buses se caracterizan por:

• Motores a GNV: Reducción de emisiones contaminantes.

La ATU está acelerando la adquisición de cámaras de videovigilancia para reforzar la seguridad en el transporte público. Este componente es clave para mejorar la capacidad de respuesta ante incidentes, fortalecer la fiscalización y contribuir a la prevención del delito.
