La declaración se hizo durante el acto conmemorativo de los 201 años de la Batalla de Ayacucho y el Día del Ejército del Perú, celebrado en la Plaza Cáceres del Cuartel General del Ejército. Allí, el mandatario enfatizó: “En la contienda contra la delincuencia continuamos y continuaremos en la lid. No concederemos respiro al ilícito, no cederemos ni nos rendiremos jamás”.

Durante su intervención oratoria, el presidente destacó que la delincuencia constituye el principal adversario de la nación, por lo que no vacilará en adoptar las medidas pertinentes para recuperar la fe de los ciudadanos en las instituciones y en el futuro del país. “Nuestra lucha, nuestro compromiso, es único: devolver al Perú al sendero de la grandeza. Y solo existe una vía para alcanzarlo: laborando sin descanso y en cohesión, tal como lo hemos hecho desde el primer día en que accedimos al Palacio de Gobierno”, agregó.

Jerí también señaló que, mediante un trabajo arduo y acciones contundentes, su Gobierno sentará las bases para que la trayectoria de progreso del Perú sea irreversible y permita consolidar a la nación como un Estado de primer mundo, mediante la colaboración coordinada con todas las entidades públicas. “En esta fecha de trascendencia histórica, expresamos nuestro respaldo absoluto a nuestro Ejército, en su proceso de modernización, para que siga cumpliendo con dignidad su misión al servicio de los 34 millones de peruanos”, precisó.

Paralelamente a las palabras del Jefe de Estado, se desarrollaron otras actividades relevantes durante el acto: el mandatario participó en la firma de un convenio entre el Ejército del Perú y la empresa Hyundai Rotem, acuerdo que contribuirá a potenciar las capacidades logísticas y militares de las fuerzas armadas. Asimismo, estuvo presente en la presentación de un libro que conmemora los 80 años de la inauguración del Cuartel General del Ejército.

Finalmente, en el evento estuvieron a la par del presidente el presidente del Consejo de Ministros, Ernesto Álvarez; el comandante del Ejército, César Briceño; así como ministros de Estado, autoridades militares y civiles, parlamentarias y representantes diplomáticas.

1.- Compromiso estatal con la seguridad: El Gobierno de José Jerí ha establecido la lucha contra la delincuencia como una prioridad máxima, adoptando una postura ofensiva y sin concesiones para recuperar la paz y la confianza de la población peruana.

The statement was made during the commemoration of the 201st anniversary of the Battle of Ayacucho and Peruvian Army Day, held in Plaza Cáceres at Army Headquarters. There, the president emphasized: “In the fight against crime, we continue and will continue the struggle. We will not grant any respite to illegal activity; we will not yield or surrender.”

During his address, the president emphasized that crime is the nation’s main adversary, and therefore he will not hesitate to take the necessary measures to restore citizens’ faith in the institutions and in the country’s future. “Our struggle, our commitment, is singular: to return Peru to the path of greatness. And there is only one way to achieve this: by working tirelessly and in unity, just as we have done since the first day we entered the Government Palace,” he added.

Jerí also stated that, through hard work and decisive actions, his government will lay the foundations for Peru’s trajectory of progress to be irreversible and allow the nation to consolidate itself as a first-world country, through coordinated collaboration with all public entities. “On this historically significant day, we express our absolute support for our Army in its modernization process, so that it may continue to fulfill its mission with dignity in service to the 34 million Peruvians,” he stated.

Alongside the President’s address, other significant activities took place during the event: the President participated in the signing of an agreement between the Peruvian Army and Hyundai Rotem, an agreement that will contribute to strengthening the logistical and military capabilities of the armed forces. He also attended the presentation of a book commemorating the 80th anniversary of the inauguration of the Army Headquarters.

Finally, the President was joined at the event by the President of the Council of Ministers, Ernesto Álvarez; the Commander of the Army, César Briceño; as well as cabinet ministers, military and civilian authorities, members of parliament, and diplomatic representatives.
