Ante las altas autoridades coreanas y latinoamericanas, el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores señaló que en los últimos 20 años las cuentas fiscales del Perú crecieron, su moneda se ha mantenido estable y hay una baja relación entre la deuda y el Producto Bruto Interno (PBI).

En su exposición se refirió a la importancia de aprender de las buenas prácticas de Corea y lograr una adecuada redistribución del ingreso. “Las grandes brechas sociales que existen en América Latina deben ser cerradas con urgencia”, expresó.

REUNIONES
El canciller Javier González-Olaechea participó en la Reunión Grupal de Ministros Latinoamericanos con el primer ministro de Corea, Han Duck-soo, donde se abordaron aspectos relacionados con el estado de la cooperación de la República de Corea y América Latina.

También el titular de Relaciones Exteriores tuvo un encuentro con el ministro del Interior y Seguridad de Corea, Lee Sang-min, a quien compartió el interés del Perú para participar en un proyecto piloto enmarcado en el programa “Saemaul Undong”, a cargo del Ministerio del Interior de Corea, dirigido a contribuir con alternativas eficientes de desarrollo agrario y lucha contra la pobreza, a través de proyectos autofinanciados y diseñados por la propia comunidad.

Asimismo, el canciller abordó con el ministro coreano la iniciativa “Fortalecimiento de la seguridad y gestión de calidad de datos de la Policía Nacional del Perú (PNP) para la lucha contra la delincuencia transnacional organizada” así como también la capacitación a la PNP en materia de control antimotines, incluyendo equipos y material.

Finalmente, el canciller se reunió con el director general del Departamento de América del Sur y América Central de la Agencia de Cooperación de Corea (KOICA), Kim Byeong-eun, a quien agradeció la operación en Perú de 20 proyectos en fortalecimiento de los servicios públicos, la salud y preservación del medio ambiente.

En el encuentro el canciller planteó iniciativas referidas a la digitalización de procesos y aseguramiento de la privacidad de datos en el sistema de salud, así como la cooperación con el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores para la digitalización de los procesos para la atención de trámites consulares, garantizando la seguridad de datos. Ambas fueron acogidas con amplia disposición.
