Bajo el liderazgo de la ministra Elizabeth Galdo, la 12° Declaración aprobada, consta de 18 puntos, los cuales servirán de guía para nuestras futuras políticas y acciones en el sector turismo, contribuyendo, de esa manera, a su fortalecimiento y desarrollo, informó.

“Quiero remarcar, como primer punto, que nos hemos reunido aquí, en Urubamba bajo el tema de “Caminos innovadores para el crecimiento del turismo sostenible, que destaca la necesidad de enfoques innovadores para abordar los desafíos actuales en el sector turístico.

La declaración suscrita hoy por los representantes de las 21 economías que conforman el Foro APEC, considera que para implementar la Visión 2040 de APEC Putrajaya y lograr una comunidad Asia-Pacífico abierta, dinámica, resiliente y pacífica para 2040 para la prosperidad de todos nuestros pueblos y las generaciones futuras, nos hemos centrado en las prioridades de comercio e inversión para un crecimiento inclusivo e interconectado; innovación y digitalización para promover la transición a la economía formal y global y el crecimiento sostenible para un desarrollo resiliente.

Asimismo, informó que los ministros de las economías de APEC destacan, la necesidad de enfoques innovadores para abordar los desafíos actuales en el sector turístico. Ello incluye formalizar empresas y fomentar la sostenibilidad y la resiliencia, a fin de aprovechar todo el potencial económico de todos, incluidas las mipymes, las mujeres y otras personas con potencial económico sin explotar, como los pueblos indígenas, según corresponda, las personas con discapacidad y las personas de comunidades remotas y rurales.

Además, se reconocen los beneficios de la formalización para el desarrollo de la industria del turismo, incluida la creación de empleo, un mayor acceso a los mercados y una mejor prestación de servicios de calidad.

“Hemos subrayado, la importancia de adoptar los avances tecnológicos para mejorar la competitividad y la sostenibilidad. Desde estrategias de marketing digital y plataformas de reservas en línea hasta sistemas de pago avanzados, la innovación ofrece innumerables oportunidades para mejorar la eficiencia, la transparencia y la resiliencia del sector turístico”, señaló.

La titular del Mincetur destacó la importancia de fomentar un crecimiento resiliente dentro del sector turístico, reafirmamos nuestro compromiso de mejorar su capacidad de adaptación, sostenibilidad e inclusión.

De otro lado, informó que se reconoce el potencial de la gastronomía sostenible y las prácticas eficientes de gestión de residuos para reforzar la sostenibilidad del sector turístico en toda la región de Asia y el Pacífico.

La gastronomía juega un papel central en la configuración de la experiencia de viaje, ofreciendo a los visitantes una muestra de la cultura, tradición e identidad local, destacó tras comentar que la gastronomía peruana es un ejemplo del rol que juega en el sector turismo, brindando experiencias inolvidables.

La titular del Mincetur agradeció a los ministros asistentes a la reunión ministerial por sus aportes en las deliberaciones y la propuesta del Plan Estratégico de Turismo de APEC 2025-2029. “Expresamos nuestra confianza en que el nuevo plan trazará un curso de acción visionario para el sector turístico y ayudará a impulsar el crecimiento y la prosperidad sostenibles e inclusivos en toda la región de Asia y el Pacífico”, añadió.

Asimismo, resaltó que el éxito de esta reunión ministerial ha sido la consecución de una suma de esfuerzos que el Mincetur ha desplegado desde que el Perú asumió la responsabilidad de presidir el foro APEC 2024. “Ha sido, también, una oportunidad invaluable para mostrar a todas las economías de APEC el potencial turístico del Perú, destacando especialmente a Cusco como nuestro principal destino nacional y uno de los más relevantes en la región Asia-Pacífico”, dijo.

Finalmente, señaló que Perú ha tenido la oportunidad de demostrarle al mundo que, tras superar la pandemia de COVID-19, es una economía estable, resiliente y con una firme disposición para recibir a turistas de todo el orbe.
