La jefa de Estado resaltó el importante hito que representa el arribo de estas grúas. “Permitirán reducir los tiempos de espera y aumentarán la capacidad de carga del puerto. Marca el inicio de una serie de arribos programados con la finalidad de traer a nuestro país todos los equipos necesarios para la operación del megapuerto, cuyo inicio está previsto para noviembre de este año, en el marco del foro APEC Perú 2024”, enfatizó.

Con una inversión de 1400 millones de dólares, el Megapuerto de Chancay registra un 80% de avance en su primera etapa. Este proyecto ya ha generado más de nueve mil puestos de trabajos directos e indirectos. En un inicio, tendrá cuatro muelles para la llegada de buques con capacidad para transportar más de 18 mil contenedores.

“Uniendo esfuerzos con el sector privado, al que apoyamos con determinación, convertiremos al Perú en el hub marítimo del Pacífico Sur hacia el continente asiático, con este terminal portuario de Chancay”, dijo la presidenta.

Este nuevo terminal multipropósito concentrará, en el mediano plazo, el 25% del valor de las agroexportaciones peruanas vía marítima y el 22% de las agroexportaciones totales. Además, servirá como importante punto de conexión para que países como Colombia, Ecuador y Chile traigan su mercadería y que esta pueda salir de manera directa a China.

“Reducirá hasta en 12 días el tránsito de carga. Con ello transformaremos la modalidad en que Sudamérica comercializa con el mercado asiático. También estamos seguros de que el Perú, podrá convertirse en una importante conexión entre Brasil y China”, afirmó la mandataria.

Además de todo el impacto positivo que traerá a la economía peruana, también fomentará el desarrollo y la inclusión social de toda la zona de influencia en la que se encuentra el puerto. Para ello, se ha creado una comisión multisectorial, junto con las autoridades regionales y locales.

“Seguiremos impulsando proyectos de alta envergadura, convencidos de que con ello transformamos la historia de nuestra patria. Seguimos trabajando para alcanzar esta expansión y desarrollo. Una muestra de ello es el fuerte crecimiento de la inversión pública, que, en los primeros cinco meses del año, superó los 18 mil millones de soles, lo que representa un incremento cercano al 30% respecto al mismo periodo del 2023”, recalcó la jefa de Estado.

La presidenta destacó que la proyección de crecimiento económico para abril y mayo estaría cercana al 4%, “la tasa más alta de los últimos dos años”, y que el Gobierno y el Banco Central de Reserva apuntan a un crecimiento del 3% para el cierre del 2024.

“En mayo último, nuestro país registró la inflación más baja de Latinoamérica. Contamos con la moneda más sólida de la región, lo que hace de nuestra economía la más confiable. Este es el resultado de la decisión política, que no se detiene y seguirá imparable”, expresó.

La mandataria reiteró el pleno y absoluto respeto a la libertad de prensa, a la libertad de expresión, a las libertades económicas y a la autonomía de las instituciones del Estado.

“Jamás agotaremos nuestro ímpetu en aras de abrazar un Perú diferente, un Perú más justo y equitativo, un Perú que, con obras como el Megapuerto de Chancay, mejorará la economía y las condiciones de vida de más peruanas y peruanos”, señaló.
