El encuentro, que contó con la participación de alcaldes de diversas regiones del país —desde grandes centros urbanos como Lima, Arequipa y Trujillo hasta pequeños distritos rurales de la Sierra y la Selva—, tuvo como eje central la necesidad de acelerar la implementación de obras que generen un impacto tangible en la cotidianidad de los ciudadanos. Durante la jornada, se destacó que muchas iniciativas han enfrentado retos como la gestión de permisos, la asignación de recursos y la coordinación interinstitucional, por lo que se acordó establecer un mecanismo de trabajo conjunto para superar estas barreras.

El Poder Ejecutivo y las autoridades ediles asumieron un compromiso firme: identificar y detallar, en un plazo no superior a 60 días, un catálogo de obras prioritarias por cada distrito. Estas iniciativas estarán enfocadas en áreas estratégicas que impactan directamente la calidad de vida: infraestructura vial para mejorar la movilidad y el acceso a mercados, obras de saneamiento básico para garantizar agua potable y desagüe seguro, equipamiento de centros educativos y sanitarios, así como espacios públicos para fortalecer la convivencia comunitaria.

Además, se estableció que cada proyecto contará con un plan de seguimiento claro, con metas definidas y responsables asignados tanto a nivel nacional como local. Se destacó la importancia de la transparencia en la gestión de recursos, prometiendo que la información sobre el avance de las obras estará disponible para la población a través de plataformas digitales y reuniones comunitarias. El presidente Balcázar enfatizó que “el desarrollo no debe ser una promesa en papel, sino una realidad que se siente en cada calle, cada escuela y cada hogar del Perú”.

Peruvian News Agency PRENSAPERU.PE https://www.prensaperu.pe Twitter: @prensaperupe The President of the Republic, José María Balcázar, headed a relevant working meeting with representatives of the Network of Urban and Rural Municipalities of Peru (REMURPE), a key space to align efforts between the Executive Branch and local authorities in seeking to reactivate initiatives that directly address the needs of the Peruvian population.

The meeting, which included the participation of mayors from various regions of the country — from large urban centers such as Lima, Arequipa and Trujillo to small rural districts in the Highlands and the Jungle — focused on the need to accelerate the implementation of projects that generate tangible impact in citizens’ daily lives. During the day, it was highlighted that many initiatives have faced challenges such as permit management, resource allocation and inter-institutional coordination, so it was agreed to establish a joint working mechanism to overcome these barriers.

The Executive Branch and municipal authorities made a firm commitment: to identify and detail, within a period not exceeding 60 days, a catalog of priority projects for each district. These initiatives will focus on strategic areas that directly impact quality of life: road infrastructure to improve mobility and access to markets, basic sanitation works to ensure drinking water and safe sewage systems, equipment for educational and health centers, as well as public spaces to strengthen community coexistence.

In addition, it was established that each project will have a clear monitoring plan, with defined goals and assigned responsibilities at both national and local levels. The importance of transparency in resource management was emphasized, promising that information on the progress of the works will be available to the public through digital platforms and community meetings. President Balcázar stressed that “development should not be a promise on paper, but a reality felt in every street, every school and every home in Peru”.
