Esta colección, denominada “Lecturas para el Futuro”, incluye 12 libros que abarcan desde los clásicos de la poesía peruana hasta las novelas más influyentes de autores contemporáneos.

Como parte de esta estrategia integral para promover la lectura, el INFC distribuirá gratuitamente 165,000 ejemplares durante el presente año. La colección llegará a más de 500 mil estudiantes pertenecientes a 750 instituciones educativas, incluyendo 50 colegios emblemáticos y 30 Centros de Excelencia Académica (CEA).

La presentación oficial de la colección tuvo lugar en una ceremonia especial en el Colegio Nacional “Ricardo Palma” de Miraflores. La colección incluye obras de renombrados autores peruanos, tales como:

• César Vallejo: Un volumen que recopila “Los heraldos negros”, “Trilce” y “Poemas humanos”.
• Mario Vargas Llosa: “La ciudad y los perros”.
• José María Arguedas: “Los ríos profundos”.
• Julio Ramón Ribeyro: “Cuentos selectos”.
• Blanca Varela: “Poemas escogidos”.
• Alfredo Bryce Echenique: “Un mundo para Julius”.
• Ricardo Palma: Una selección de “Tradiciones peruanas”.
• Abraham Valdelomar: “El caballero Carmelo y otros relatos”.
• Clorinda Matto de Turner: “Índole”.
• Manuel González Prada: “Páginas libres”.
• Mercedes Cabello de Carbonera: “Blanca Sol”.
• Ventura García Calderón: “Cuentos peruanos”.

El Ministro de Cultura, Ricardo Vásquez, destacó que esta iniciativa busca acercar la literatura peruana a los jóvenes, fomentar el pensamiento crítico y fortalecer la identidad nacional. “Creemos que la lectura es una herramienta fundamental para el desarrollo integral de nuestros estudiantes. Queremos que conozcan y valoren el legado literario de nuestro país”, afirmó.

Durante la ceremonia, el director del INFC, Javier Torres, explicó que la distribución de los libros estará acompañada de programas de capacitación para docentes y actividades de promoción de la lectura en las escuelas. “No se trata solo de entregar libros, sino de crear un ambiente propicio para la lectura y el debate en las aulas”, señaló.

Por su parte, la directora de la Unidad de Gestión Educativa Local (UGEL) de Lima, Patricia Sánchez, resaltó la importancia de esta iniciativa para complementar el trabajo que se realiza en las escuelas. “La lectura es una ventana al mundo. Estamos seguros de que esta colección será un gran aporte para la formación de nuestros estudiantes”, comentó.

La distribución de la colección “Lecturas para el Futuro” se realizará en colegios de diversas regiones del país, incluyendo 150 instituciones educativas en Lima Metropolitana, 60 en Cusco, 50 en Arequipa, 45 en La Libertad, 40 en Piura, 35 en Junín, 30 en Lambayeque y 20 en Loreto, entre otras.

Adicionalmente a la distribución de libros, el INFC organizará talleres de lectura, charlas con autores y concursos literarios en las escuelas para fomentar el interés por la lectura y la escritura entre los estudiantes.

The Minister of Culture, Ricardo Vásquez, emphasized that this initiative aims to bring Peruvian literature closer to young people, foster critical thinking, and strengthen national identity. “We believe that reading is a fundamental tool for the comprehensive development of our students. We want them to know and value our country’s literary legacy,” he stated.
