La intervención, llevada a cabo de manera sorpresiva, tenía como objetivo primordial la detección y confiscación de bienes prohibidos, utilizados para la coordinación de actividades ilícitas desde el interior de los pabellones.

La operación contó con la participación de más de cincuenta efectivos especializados del Grupo de Operaciones Especiales (GOES) del Instituto Nacional Penitenciario (INPE), así como un considerable contingente de agentes de la Policía Nacional del Perú (PNP). El despliegue se concentró estratégicamente en el pabellón de máxima seguridad, donde se realizó una inspección minuciosa y sistemática.

Durante la requisa, las autoridades lograron incautar una variedad de artículos prohibidos, incluyendo más de 25 televisores, armas punzocortantes de diversa índole, radios de comunicación, equipos de sonido, cuadernos con detalladas anotaciones telefónicas y otros elementos considerados de alto riesgo para la seguridad del penal. Adicionalmente, se verificó el estricto cumplimiento de las recientes normativas de seguridad implementadas por el Gobierno, entre ellas, la suspensión del suministro eléctrico en determinados horarios para evitar la carga y el uso clandestino de teléfonos celulares y otros dispositivos electrónicos no autorizados.

“Este operativo representa una acción contundente que reafirma la política de tolerancia cero contra el crimen organizado, una directriz impulsada con firmeza por el presidente José Jerí”, declaró enfáticamente el ministro Walter Martínez. Asimismo, resaltó la importancia de la colaboración interinstitucional con la PNP, subrayando que esta sinergia fortalece las acciones permanentes de combate al delito y contribuye a la protección de la seguridad ciudadana.

El titular del MINJUSDH enfatizó que estas intervenciones tienen como objetivo establecer una clara línea de autoridad dentro de los establecimientos penitenciarios. “No permitiremos bajo ninguna circunstancia que los penales se conviertan en centros de operaciones para actividades delictivas. La seguridad de la ciudadanía es nuestra máxima prioridad”, aseveró tras inspeccionar los ambientes intervenidos.

Por su parte, el ministro del Interior, Vicente Tiburcio, coincidió en que este operativo refleja una política gubernamental inequívoca: “La defensa de la legalidad exige decisiones firmes y una mano dura contra la delincuencia. Esta es la línea que estamos siguiendo y que continuaremos aplicando con determinación”.

Estas acciones se enmarcan dentro de la Estrategia Nacional de Seguridad Penitenciaria, cuyo objetivo principal es desarticular las redes delictivas que operan desde el interior de los establecimientos penitenciarios y garantizar que estos cumplan efectivamente su función de rehabilitación y reinserción social.

Las autoridades anunciaron que este tipo de operativos se replicarán de manera sistemática en otros penales del país, como parte de un plan de intervención continúa destinado a consolidar un sistema penitenciario más seguro, ordenado y transparente.

The surprise operation aimed primarily to detect and confiscate prohibited items used to coordinate illicit activities from inside the cellblocks.

The operation involved more than fifty specialized officers from the Special Operations Group (GOES) of the National Penitentiary Institute (INPE), as well as a considerable contingent of agents from the Peruvian National Police (PNP). The deployment was strategically concentrated in the maximum-security wing, where a thorough and systematic inspection was carried out.

During the search, authorities seized a variety of prohibited items, including more than 25 televisions, various bladed weapons, communication radios, sound equipment, notebooks with detailed telephone records, and other items considered a high risk to prison security. “This operation represents a decisive action that reaffirms the zero-tolerance policy against organized crime, a directive firmly promoted by President José Jerí,” declared Minister Walter Martínez emphatically. He also highlighted the importance of inter-institutional collaboration with the National Police, underscoring that this synergy strengthens ongoing efforts to combat crime and contributes to the protection of public safety.

The Minister of Justice and Human Rights emphasized that these interventions aim to establish a clear line of authority within prison facilities. “Under no circumstances will we allow prisons to become centers of operation for criminal activities. The safety of the public is our highest priority,” he asserted after inspecting the areas where the interventions took place.

For his part, the Minister of the Interior, Vicente Tiburcio, agreed that this operation reflects an unequivocal government policy: “Upholding the rule of law demands firm decisions and a firm hand against crime. This is the path we are following and will continue to pursue with determination.”

These actions are part of the National Prison Security Strategy, whose main objective is to dismantle criminal networks operating from within prison facilities and ensure that these facilities effectively fulfill their function of rehabilitation and social reintegration.

Authorities announced that these types of operations will be systematically replicated in other prisons across the country, as part of a continuous intervention plan aimed at consolidating a safer, more orderly, and transparent prison system.
