La capacitación estuvo a cargo de un grupo de expertos del Hospital de Messejana – Dr. Carlos Studart Gomes, de Fortaleza – Brasil, nosocomio referente internacional en trasplantes cardíacos, encabezado por el médico cirujano vascular peruano Juan Alberto Cosquillo Mejía.

Cerca de 36 profesionales del hospital Rebagliati, entre cirujanos cardiovasculares, cardiólogos, anestesiólogos cardiovasculares, médicos intensivistas, enfermeras perfusionistas, intensivistas e instrumentistas y fisioterapeutas, actualizaron sus conocimientos y potenciaron sus habilidades en cirugías cardiacas.

Utilizando simuladores quirúrgicos y equipos altamente especializados, el personal médico de EsSalud fue capacitado en técnicas quirúrgicas de cardiectomía, explante e implante del injerto cardíaco, anestesia en trasplante cardíaco, cuidado intensivo post operatorio, manejo de potenciales complicaciones, inmunosupresión y seguimiento.

También recibieron instrucción en el manejo de soporte cardiaco y respiratorio con el uso del sistema de oxigenación por membrana extracorpórea (ECMO, por sus siglas en inglés); técnicas de canulación, manejo de emergencias, transporte y destete en ECMO, entre otros aspectos.

El presidente ejecutivo de EsSalud, doctor Gino Dávila Herrera, destacó que la instrucción fue posible gracias al memorando de entendimiento suscrito recientemente entre Perú y Brasil para desarrollar acciones conjuntas que permitan fortalecer los servicios de salud de ambos países.

El titular del Seguro Social explicó que a través de esta capacitación se busca que el hospital Rebagliati sea la segunda institución en el país en realizar trasplantes del corazón, después del Instituto Nacional Cardiovascular (INCOR), y de esta manera ampliar la oferta de tratamiento quirúrgico cardiaco a nuestros asegurados.

“Este es el primer paso para lograr que el hospital Rebagliati sea la segunda institución acreditada en trasplante cardíaco en el país. Posteriormente serán capacitados los médicos de los hospitales Almenara y Sabogal”, precisó.

The executive president of EsSalud, Dr. Gino Dávila Herrera, stressed that the instruction was possible thanks to the memorandum of understanding recently signed between Peru and Brazil to develop joint actions to strengthen the health services of both countries.
