Lo acompañarán en la Mesa Directiva sus colegas Patricia Juárez (FP), Waldemar Cerrón (PL) y Alejandro Cavero (Avanza País) en la primera, segunda y tercera vicepresidencia del Legislativo, respectivamente.
La sesión de la elección inició pasada las 10 de la mañana, luego de que el saliente presidente del Congreso, Alejandro Soto, nombrara a los parlamentarios Rosio Torres (APP) y Susel Paredes (BDP) como escrutadores del proceso.
De acuerdo con el artículo 12 del Reglamento del Parlamento, el acto de elección se llevó a cabo de manera presencial y sufragaron 127 congresistas. Tras concluir el escrutinio, Soto Reyes proclamó como la ganadora a la lista 1.
DISCURSO DE ORDEN DEL NUEVO PRESIDENTE DEL PARLAMENTO PERUANO
En su discurso de asunción, el presidente del Congreso de la República, Eduardo Salhuana Cavides, expresó hoy su compromiso para que el Parlamento siga siendo la garantía para la libertad y de la fortaleza de nuestra democracia.
Ante la representación nacional, indicó que la Mesa Directiva del periodo anual de sesiones 2024-2025 extiende sus manos a todos los sectores para trabajar juntos y recuperar la confianza del pueblo y la fortaleza del Poder Legislativo.
Además, saludó la elección de los congresistas Patricia Juárez de Fuerza Popular en la primera vicepresidencia, Waldemar Cerrón de Perú Libre en la segunda vicepresidencia y Alejandro Cavero de Avanza País en la tercera vicepresidencia.
Luego, Salhuana Cavides manifestó que se compromete a garantizar el trabajo legislativo y defender los fueros parlamentarios dentro del respeto al sistema democrático.
“La búsqueda del consenso tiene que darse siempre en el marco de la tolerancia, pluralidad y el diálogo democrático. Las decisiones no las asumirá el presidente, sino de manera conjunta con la Mesa Directiva, las bancadas parlamentarias en las instancias deliberativas establecidas”, indicó.
PUERTAS ABIERTAS, ACERCAREMOS EL CONGRESO DE LA REPÚBLICA A LOS CIUDADANOS
En otro momento, el titular del Congreso saludó a los cronistas parlamentarios y a los medios de comunicación, con quienes espera tener contacto permanente, con respeto y mutua colaboración que permita informar al país sobre lo que hacen los legisladores, los proyectos aprobados, el uso de los recursos públicos y los logros de la institución.
“Nuestra tarea será acercar el Congreso e la Republica a la población, estar con las organizaciones sociales, gremiales, profesionales y empresariales de todo nivel, de mantener sus puertas abiertas. Que el pueblo sepa que las puertas de su casa, que es el Parlamento, no se cierra nunca a su propio dueño, que es el pueblo”, afirmó Salhuana Cavides.
Luego, dijo que deben concentrar sus esfuerzos en proponer, debatir y aprobar leyes que encaren los problemas principales del país, promover políticas públicas para combatir la inseguridad ciudadana, contribuir a la reactivación económica y ejercer con firmeza el control político para combatir la corrupción.
De otro lado, Salhuana Cavides recordó que este Congreso ha logrado consensos importantes como la elección de los tres integrantes del directorio del Banco Central de Reserva, la elección de 6 nuevos magistrados del Tribunal Constitucional, la elección de defensor del pueblo y la designación del contralor general de la república y al superintendente de Banca, Seguros y AFP.
En esa misma línea, anunció que trabajarán en este periodo anual de sesiones para que la implementación del retorno a la bicameralidad garantice la eficiencia que el país espera.
RECHAZA VÍNCULOS CON ACTIVIDAD ILEGAL
Posteriormente, Salhuana rechazó categóricamente tener vínculos con actividad ilegal de algún tipo y anunció que, conforme a la democracia, brindará toda la información de sus iniciativas y actividades públicas que permitan que sea la verdad la que prime frente a la desinformación de algunos sectores.
“Para evitar especulaciones, hago saber que el año que ejerza la presidencia no presentaré ninguna iniciativa referida a dicho sector económico”, anunció.
CONVOCATORIA A LA REPRESENTACIÓN NACIONAL A SESIÓN DE INSTALACIÓN DEL PERÍODO ANUAL DE SESIONES 2024 – 2025
De otro lado el nuevo titular del Congreso de la República, Eduardo Salhuana Cavides, convocó a la Representación Nacional a la sesión de instalación del Periodo Anual de Sesiones 2024 – 2025 que se desarrollará mañana sábado 27 de julio a las 10:00 horas.
La sesión de instalación se desarrollará en el Hemiciclo de Sesiones en cumplimiento a lo establecido en el Reglamento del Congreso, que establece en sus artículos 48 y 49 que el periodo anual de sesiones se inicia el 27 de julio hasta el 26 de julio del año siguiente.
Este comprende dos legislaturas ordinarias, la primera que se inicia 27 de julio y culmina el 15 de diciembre; y la segunda que se inicia el uno de marzo hasta el 15 de junio.
“Se cita a los señores congresistas a la sesión de instalación del Congreso de la República para el período anual de sesiones 2024-2025, que se realizará mañana sábado 27 de julio a las 10 horas”, expresó el titular del Parlamento.
En tal sentido, la Oficialía Mayor citó a los 130 congresistas a dicha sesión.

On the other hand, Salhuana Cavides recalled that this Congress has achieved important consensus such as the election of the three members of the board of directors of the Central Reserve Bank, the election of 6 new magistrates of the Constitutional Court, the election of the ombudsman and the appointment of the comptroller general of the republic and the superintendent of Banking, Insurance and AFP.
Along the same lines, he announced that they will work in this annual period of sessions so that the implementation of the return to bicameralism guarantees the efficiency that the country expects.
REJECT LINKS WITH ILLEGAL ACTIVITY
Subsequently, Salhuana categorically rejected having links with illegal activity of any kind and announced that, in accordance with democracy, he will provide all the information on his public initiatives and activities that allow the truth to prevail over the misinformation of some sectors.
“To avoid speculation, I make it known that the year I exercise the presidency I will not present any initiative referring to said economic sector,” he announced.

On the other hand, the new head of the Congress of the Republic, Eduardo Salhuana Cavides, summoned the National Representation to the installation session of the Annual Period of Sessions 2024 – 2025 that will take place tomorrow, Saturday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m.
The installation session will take place in the Hemicycle of Sessions in compliance with the provisions of the Congress Regulations, which establish in its articles 48 and 49 that the annual period of sessions begins on July 27 until July 26 of the following year. .
