Entre los invitados se encontraban los cancilleres del Ecuador, Gabriela Sommerfeld, y de Uruguay, Omar Paganini; el presidente del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID), Ilan Goldfajn; el embajador del Perú en EE.UU., Alfredo Ferrero; el secretario asistente para Asuntos del Hemisferio Occidental del Departamento de Estado de EE.UU., embajador Brian Nichols; entre otras distinguidas autoridades.

En su discurso, el ministro González-Olaechea resaltó que durante su gestión la prioridad es la ejecución de una Política Exterior Reforzada que permita al Perú ser un actor positivo, activo y propositivo en el escenario regional y global.

Destacó que este es su cuarto viaje oficial a los Estados Unidos en sus ocho meses de gestión, esta vez para participar en la Reunión Ministerial de la Alianza de las Américas para la Prosperidad Económica (APEP), iniciativa que busca aprovechar el potencial económico de la región.

El canciller añadió que el Perú y EE.UU. coindicen en diversos mecanismos regionales y globales para abordar de manera coordinada asuntos importantes como la democracia, la migración y la lucha global contra las drogas. Entre ellos se encuentran la APEP y el Foro de Cooperación Económica Asia-Pacífico (APEC).

Finalmente, el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores indicó que la intención del Gobierno peruano es consolidar la asociación estratégica con EE.UU., a través de la cooperación, el comercio, las inversiones y la defensa de los valores y principios que nos unen. Para ello, la Embajada del Perú, los quince Consulados Peruanos en todo Estados Unidos, tienen la importante tarea de dar nuevos impulsos al éxito de la historia conjunta.

He highlighted that this is his fourth official trip to the United States in his eight months in office, this time to participate in the Ministerial Meeting of the Alliance of the Americas for Economic Prosperity (APEP), an initiative that seeks to take advantage of the economic potential of the region.

The chancellor added that Peru and the US agree on various regional and global mechanisms to address important issues such as democracy, migration and the global fight against drugs in a coordinated manner. These include APEP and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC).

Finally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated that the intention of the Peruvian Government is to consolidate the strategic partnership with the United States, through cooperation, trade, investments and the defense of the values ​​and principles that unite us.
