Por primera vez, esta localidad contará con servicios de telecomunicaciones, a través de los cuales podrá acceder a educación virtual, información, telemedicina, gestiones administrativas, financieras, entretenimiento, entre otros.

Esta nueva infraestructura, que fue instalada por Bitel, forma parte del régimen Canon por Cobertura, modalidad para que operadores de telecomunicaciones inviertan en zonas rurales, donde no se cuenta con el servicio de telecomunicaciones.

“Esta antena traerá no solo Internet sino también es una puerta de acceso al conocimiento, a la productividad y al desarrollo económico, es una semilla que estamos plantando aquí, pues como MTC estamos viendo las mejores formas para que, de manera publico privada, podamos llegar a más regiones llevando conectividad”, sostuvo la ministra Lazarte.

Como parte de esta iniciativa, de canon por cobertura, se está instalando 172 antenas en 18 regiones, de las cuales una es para Loreto que permitirá beneficiar a una población de más de 150 personas.

La actividad también contó con la participación de los congresistas Karol Paredes, Norma Yarrow, Alejandro Cavero, Adriana Tudela, Cheryl Trigozo y Arturo Alegría; el alcalde de Alto Amazonas, Roy Saldaña; y el director general de Bitel, Pham Anh Dúc.

INTERNET PARA MÁS PERUANOS
El MTC, en el marco de la política pública de masificación de los servicios de telecomunicaciones a nivel nacional, fortalece las medidas enfocadas a dirigir los beneficios hacia localidades rurales y zonas de preferente interés social.

Así, se impulsa la metodología de cobro del canon por el uso del espectro radioeléctrico para servicios móviles y/o fijos. Con esta medida, los operadores móviles pueden destinar hasta un 40% del canon móvil, a la expansión de infraestructura de telecomunicaciones en zonas rurales donde más se requiere.
