Las becas, otorgan acceso a los cursos disponibles en los Certificados de Carrera de Google, así como también al nuevo curso de Fundamentos de IA.
“En Google, creemos firmemente en el poder transformador de la educación y la tecnología. Estas becas, representan un gran paso para seguir avanzando en el cierre de la brecha digital y brindar a las personas nuevas herramientas que les permitan capacitarse en las habilidades digitales necesarias para poder desenvolverse profesionalmente en cualquier ámbito laboral del futuro tanto en Perú como en el resto del mundo. Agradecemos el apoyo de las entidades y organizaciones que contribuyen a sumar esfuerzos y a masificar esta iniciativa a más peruanos”, indicó Edgardo Frías, director general de Google Perú.
En ese sentido, la distribución de las becas, serán gestionadas a través de Women In Tech, buscando una igualdad digital en el sector, para que más mujeres puedan alcanzar nuevas posiciones en sus organizaciones, considerando que, según un estudio del BID del 2021, solo el 25% de los puestos de trabajo en el sector TIC en el Perú son ocupados por mujeres. Además, se priorizará la asignación de las becas a aquellas personas que pertenezcan a grupos subrepresentados, así como también personas desempleadas o con trabajos informales. Los requisitos para postularse a las becas incluyen ser mayor de 18 años y residente de Perú. El proceso de inscripción se realizará desde el 24 de mayo a través de este link, y las becas se otorgarán para que los beneficiarios puedan iniciar sus estudios el 17 de junio.

En el acto de presentación de la iniciativa, el Embajador Carlos Vásquez, presidente de las Reuniones de los Altos Funcionarios de APEC 2024 afirmó: “La colaboración público-privada entre Google, Women in Tech y el gobierno peruano es una muestra del compromiso del Perú en impulsar acciones concretas que beneficien y acerquen las ventajas de APEC a nuestra ciudadanía. Esta iniciativa se desarrolla paralelamente a las reuniones oficiales de APEC. En el caso del SOM2 en Arequipa se realizaron cerca de 50 eventos adoptando documentos importantes tales como la “Declaración Ministerial sobre Mujer y la Economía” o la “Declaración Conjunta sobre Mujer y Comercio”.”
“Teniendo en cuenta que una de las prioridades de la presidencia de APEC PERÚ 2024 es la innovación y digitalización para promover la transición a la economía formal y global, el desarrollo de iniciativas como las que hoy nos convoca responde en plenitud al objetivo para el cual fue creada la iniciativa APEC Ciudadano, esto es, acercar el Foro APEC y sus beneficios a la sociedad civil peruana. Según el reciente Estudio de Escasez de Talentos 2024, en Perú, el 65% de los empleadores tiene dificultades para encontrar talento calificado. Adicionalmente, una de las cinco habilidades que los empleadores reportan tener mayor dificultad para encontrar son los conocimientos en Tecnologías de la Información (TI) y Datos. Estas becas – que forman parte de las 120.000 que Google ofrece en toda Hispanoamérica y se entregarán por primera vez en el Perú- permitirán que los beneficiarios puedan participar de diferentes cursos certificados, los cuales pueden ser llevados a su propio ritmo.
NUEVO CURSO: FUNDAMENTOS DE IA
La inteligencia artificial (IA) tiene un potencial significativo para impulsar el crecimiento económico y generar nuevas oportunidades en los mercados emergentes. Según el informe de Google, Velocistas de la IA, existen distintas formas en que los gobiernos y organizaciones pueden utilizar esta tecnología para potenciar el desarrollo social y la capacitación es uno de los pilares clave.
“Fundamentos de IA forma parte de nuestro programa Crece con Google y está destinado a quienes buscan adquirir conocimientos básicos sobre Inteligencia Artificial, y aprender a utilizar herramientas de IA para la innovación de productos y servicios. CERTIFICADOS DE CARRERA
Los “Fundamentos de IA” complementan la oferta ya existente de los Certificados de Carrera de Google, que tienen como fin brindar nuevos conocimientos y habilidades prácticas en áreas tecnológicas de alta demanda como Ciberseguridad, Marketing Digital y Comercio Electrónico, Soporte IT, Análisis de datos, entre otros. Para que las personas puedan dar sus primeros pasos en el camino profesional.
Los cursos tienen una duración aproximada de 6 meses -si se dedican 10 horas al estudio por semana- y están pensados para ser compatibles con personas que ya tienen empleo, estudios en paralelo u otras obligaciones, dado que el acceso es en línea y asincrónico, a través de Coursera.
