En entrevista telefónica con un medio local, el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores señaló que estos acuerdos, firmados en Washington D.C., permiten la cooperación en materia espacial y de investigación. Agregó que el Perú se constituyó como el 41° país en unirse a este instrumento internacional.

“Esto eleva, aún más, el nivel de interlocución internacional que está procurando el Perú, a través de la Cancillería”, señaló el titular de Relaciones Exteriores.

Por otro lado, el canciller se refirió a la presentación del jurista Alberto Borea, ante el Consejo Permanente de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA), como candidato al cargo de juez de la Corte Interamericano de Derechos Humanos. “Hemos recibido comentarios que la presentación ha sido sólida y contundente”, afirmó, a la vez que destacó su experiencia profesional y académica.

También el ministro González-Olaechea Franco mencionó que en Washington D.C. participó de la ceremonia de entrega de once bienes culturales recuperados en EE.UU. que serán retornados al Perú. “Demuestra, una vez más, la buena disposición de Estados Unidos a la devolución de bienes culturales peruanos”, agregó.

De la misma manera, el canciller indicó que sostuvo un encuentro con la embajadora EE.UU. en el Perú, Stephanie Syptak-Ramnath, quien próximamente arribará al país. En la cita también estuvieron presentes funcionarios de la Oficina de Asuntos Internacionales de Narcóticos y Aplicación de la Ley (INL), del Departamento de Defensa y el alto oficial de EE.UU. ante APEC.

Asimismo, el ministro González-Olaechea indicó que este sábado participó en la ceremonia de investidura presidencial del reelecto mandatario de El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, y sostuvo una reunión bilateral con su homóloga, Alexandra Hill.

Detalló que la cita se abordó el estado actual de los mecanismos de cooperación y se acordó auscultar posibilidades para su incremento en áreas como seguridad, migración, comercio, entre otros, así como el fortalecimiento del mecanismo de consultas.

VIAJE A CHINA
El canciller Javier González-Olaechea remarcó que la visita de Estado de la presidenta de la República, Dina Boluarte, responde a una invitación formulada por el presidente de China, Xi Jinping, en el marco de la relación de alto nivel con el país asiático. “Las visitas de Estado no son endosables”, señaló.

Mencionó que el viaje contiene una agenda que considera actividades en las ciudades de Shenzhen, Shanghái y Pekín con importantes encuentros de promoción de inversiones en el país y de reuniones con empresas del sector de ferrocarril, infraestructura, entre otros, además de un encuentro bilateral con el presidente chino.

Likewise, Minister González-Olaechea indicated that this Saturday he participated in the presidential inauguration ceremony of the re-elected president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, and held a bilateral meeting with his counterpart, Alexandra Hill.

He explained that the meeting addressed the current state of the cooperation mechanisms and it was agreed to explore possibilities for their increase in areas such as security, migration, trade, among others, as well as the strengthening of the consultation mechanism.

TRIP TO CHINA
Foreign Minister Javier González-Olaechea stressed that the state visit of the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, responds to an invitation made by the President of China, Xi Jinping, within the framework of the high-level relationship with the Asian country. “State visits are not endorsable,” he noted.

He mentioned that the trip contains an agenda that considers activities in the cities of Shenzhen, Shanghai and Beijing with important meetings to promote investments in the country and meetings with companies in the railway and infrastructure sectors, among others, in addition to a bilateral meeting with the Chinese president.
