La ceremonia de donación se llevó a cabo en las instalaciones del colegio. Estuvieron presentes por parte de la Iglesia de Jesucristo las hermanas Carmen Gloria Zeballos, Debbie Becerra y Patricia Pino, así como Guillermo Estrugo, director de Comunicación y César Hooker, gerente de Bienestar y Autosuficiencia del Área Sudamérica Noroeste. Por parte de la institución educativa, estuvieron presentes Dorely Cubas, directora del colegio, Rosa Motta, coordinadora, así como alumnos, profesores y personal del colegio.

Al culminar la ceremonia, Carmen Gloria Zeballos, esposa del élder Jorge Zeballos, mencionó: “La verdad es que ha tocado mi corazón ver a estos niños tan animosos, con tanta felicidad de estar aquí siendo ayudados, siendo servidos por todos los que están a su alrededor con tanto amor”, así mismo Dorelly Cubas agradeció a la Iglesia de Jesucristo la donación que permitirá asistir y dar soporte a los diversos alumnos del colegio. El momento emotivo de la ceremonia se dio cuando los niños, alumnos del colegio y personal docente cantaron “Canto la alegría de dar” en agradecimiento a los representantes de la Iglesia por la donación efectuada.

El Colegio La Alegría en el Señor fue fundado el 15 de mayo de 1954 por Rosemarie Stemmler, educadora alemana residente en el Perú. Es una reconocida institución que ofrece educación básica regular en niveles preescolar, primaria y secundaria para niños con discapacidad física y motora. Desde el 2001, el colegio ha estado a cargo de las Hermanas Siervas del Plan de Dios quienes realizan diversas actividades para mantener la operatividad de colegio.

Actualmente, muchos de los niños son de escasos recursos, por lo que el costo de sus estudios es subvencionado en su mayoría por las donaciones de organizaciones y diversas entidades privadas.
