Agencia Peruana de Noticias PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe/ Twitter: @prensaperupe Entre el 3 y 6 de junio se llevó a cabo en Puno el “Curso Nacional sobre el Combate al Tráfico de Armas y Municiones (CTAM)”,organizado por el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU), cuyo objetivo fue presentar el contexto actual del tráfico ilícito de armas de fuego y municiones en la región y aportar herramientas para regular este armamento, a fin de evitar su desvío a los flujos ilegales.

El curso, que fue impartido por expertos del Centro Regional de las Naciones Unidas para la Paz, el Desarme y el Desarrollo en América Latina y el Caribe (UNLIREC), de INTERPOL, de Chile y de la Dirección Nacional de Inteligencia (DINI), contó con la participación de cerca de 25 funcionarios y personal operativo de la Policía Nacional del Perú, de la SUCAMEC, del Ejército, de la Marina de Guerra, SUNAT-ADUANAS y de la oficina de seguridad ciudadana de la Municipalidad de Puno.

El tráfico ilícito de armas de fuego y municiones está vinculado con otras amenazas como la delincuencia organizada transnacional, el narcotráfico, el terrorismo, el sicariato, el contrabando y la minería ilegal; motivo por el que el Perú ha priorizado el fortalecimiento de capacidades nacionales, a través del desarrollo de capacitaciones y entrenamiento, para reforzar el trabajo que desarrollan las entidades nacionales competentes en la materia.

La Cancillería, a cargo de la Presidencia de la Comisión Nacional contra la Fabricación y el Tráfico Ilícito de Armas de Fuego, Municiones, Explosivos y otros Materiales Relacionados (CONATIAF), viene desarrollando acciones a fin de contribuir con las medidas para reforzar los mecanismos de control y combatir esta problemática.
