Agencia Peruana de Noticias PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe/ Twitter: @prensaperupe En una ceremonia por el Día Internacional de la Mujer, llevada a cabo en el Palacio de Torre Tagle y liderada por presidenta Dina Boluarte Zegarra, en presencia de ministros de Estado, el canciller Elmer Schialer Salcedo señaló que, a través de las oficinas consulares, en este primer trimestre se han llevado cabo 77 actividades para abordar la problemática de la violencia contra la mujer y fortalecer la protección de nuestras compatriotas en el exterior.
En la actividad -que contó con la presencia de la ministra de la Mujer, Fanny Montellanos- el titular de Relaciones Exteriores precisó que de los más de tres millones de peruanos que residen fuera del país, el 51.8 % son mujeres quienes desempeñan un papel fundamental en las comunidades. “Su capacidad de organización, influencia y trabajo queda reflejada en el hecho que 139 de las 287 asociaciones peruanas registradas en el exterior están lideradas por mujeres”, detalló.
Asimismo, informó que se sigue reforzando la lucha contra la trata de personas mediante acuerdos bilaterales y en paralelo se avanza en la negociación de convenios de seguridad social. Explicó que, gracias a estos instrumentos suscritos, más de medio millón de peruanos han accedido a beneficios previsionales, de los cuales 300 mil son mujeres.
En el ámbito multilateral, recordó la vigencia de la Declaración y Plataforma de Acción de Beijing, la Resolución 1325 del Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU sobre Mujeres, Paz y Seguridad, así como otros instrumentos globales. Igualmente, reafirmó el compromiso del Perú a través de su participación en la Junta Ejecutiva de ONU Mujeres (período 2025-2027).
Respecto a la organización institucional, mencionó se ha fortalecido una cultura interna a través de directivas, capacitaciones y medidas concretas como los Wawa Wasi y los lactarios. Asimismo, indicó que desde el 2017 el Grupo de Trabajo para la Igualdad de Género coordina la incorporación transversal del enfoque de género contribuyendo a cerrar las brechas de desigualdad.
También el canciller Schialer refirió que, entre 2023 y 2024, el Centro Cultural Inca Garcilaso de la Cancillería llevó a cabo 27 actividades dedicadas a resaltar el aporte de la mujer a la cultura. En esa línea, este mes se desarrolla un programa que incluye la proyección de películas de destacadas cineastas peruanas.
En su discurso, finalmente, el canciller Schialer hizo una mención especial a las embajadoras que ocupan altos cargos dentro de la institución y en organismos internacionales, subrayando el “esfuerzo y compromiso de todas las mujeres aquí presentes, así como de aquellas que, desde distintos ámbitos y responsabilidades, siguen impulsando cambios fundamentales en nuestra sociedad. Su liderazgo, su determinación, marcan la diferencia y nos motivan a seguir construyendo un mundo más justo, más inclusivo para todas y para todos”.

He also reported that the fight against human trafficking continues to be strengthened through bilateral agreements and in parallel progress is being made in the negotiation of social security agreements. He explained that, thanks to these signed instruments, more than half a million Peruvians have accessed pension benefits, of which 300 thousand are women.
In the multilateral sphere, he recalled the validity of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, as well as other global instruments. He also reaffirmed Peru’s commitment through its participation in the Executive Board of UN Women (period 2025-2027).
Regarding the institutional organization, he mentioned that an internal culture has been strengthened through directives, training and concrete measures such as Wawa Wasi and lactariums. He also indicated that since 2017 the Working Group for Gender Equality has coordinated the transversal incorporation of the gender approach, contributing to closing inequality gaps.
Chancellor Schialer also said that, between 2023 and 2024, the Inca Garcilaso Cultural Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs carried out 27 activities dedicated to highlighting the contribution of women to culture. Along these lines, a program is being held this month that includes screenings of films by prominent Peruvian filmmakers.
In his speech, Chancellor Schialer made special mention of the women ambassadors who hold high positions within the institution and in international organizations, highlighting the “effort and commitment of all the women present here, as well as those who, from different areas and responsibilities, continue to promote fundamental changes in our society. Their leadership, their determination, make the difference and motivate us to continue building a fairer, more inclusive world for all.”
