Renata Forste, vicepresidenta internacional de la Universidad Brigham Young (BYU) de Provo, Utah, Estados Unidos, recibirá un reconocimiento del Congreso de la República del Perú por su destacada labor en la promoción de convenios de cooperación interinstitucional. Estos convenios vinculan a la BYU con la Universidad Nacional San Cristóbal de Huamanga (UNSCH) en Ayacucho, beneficiando significativamente a los estudiantes universitarios de esta región en la parte sur del Perú.

La congresista Digna Calla Lobatón lidera la iniciativa y presidirá la ceremonia de reconocimiento, programada para el lunes 30 de junio de 2025, a las 10:00 a.m., en la sala Grau del Congreso de la República. El evento destacará el impacto positivo de la colaboración entre ambas universidades, abriendo nuevas oportunidades académicas y de investigación para la comunidad estudiantil de Ayacucho. Se espera la asistencia de autoridades universitarias, congresistas y representantes de la academia del país.

Se conoce que en la delegación que acompaña a la doctora Forste a nuestro país, está el reconocido profesional de origen peruano Mag. Alberto Puertas, asesor académico y de carrera en el Centro de Asesoramiento Universitario de la Universidad Brigham Young (BYU), actualmente es el director del “Proyecto de la BYU y la UNSCH”, este acreditado profesional, ha recibido diversas distinciones y reconocimiento en el Perú otorgadas por Universidades en Arequipa, Piura, Trujillo y otras. En la víspera celebró sus 37 años de sólido matrimonio, Alberto y su esposa Kristen viven con sus tres hermosos hijos en Orem, Utah.

Del mismo modo este jueves 26 de junio la vicepresidenta internacional de la Universidad Brigham Young (BYU) Dra. Renata Forste y el Mag, Alberto Puertas, recibirán el doctorado honoris causa respectivamente otorgado por la Universidad Nacional San Cristóbal de Huamanga (UNSCH).

La Dra. Renata Forste se desempeña como vicepresidenta Internacional de la Universidad Brigham Young (BYU). Su liderazgo ha sido fundamental en el desarrollo y fortalecimiento de las relaciones internacionales de la BYU, impulsando colaboraciones académicas y de investigación a nivel global. Su experiencia y dedicación han contribuido significativamente al impacto positivo de la BYU en comunidades internacionales, como se evidencia en los recientes convenios firmados con universidades peruanas. CONVENIO: UNIVERSIDAD BRIGHAM YOUNG (BYU) Y LA UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL SAN CRISTÓBAL DE HUAMANGA (UNSCH)
El objetivo es establecer lineamientos para la colaboración entre las partes, con el fin de promover y fortalecer la cooperación interinstitucional en diversas áreas de interés común, ejecutar proyectos conjuntos de investigación, desarrollo y docencia a nivel de pregrado y posgrado.

Así mismo busca el intercambio de conocimientos, experiencias y buenas prácticas académicas y científicas; la movilidad de estudiantes, investigadores, personal docente y administrativo entre ambas instituciones, promoviendo la internacionalización de la educación superior.

De otro lado el mismo consolidará la promoción de actividades científicas, culturales, de extensión universitaria y de responsabilidad social; además de acceso compartido a recursos académicos y técnicos.

Este Acuerdo sienta las bases para la celebración de acuerdos específicos que definirán los compromisos particulares de cada una de las partes involucradas, posibilitando así la implementación de acciones concretas que contribuyan al logro de objetivos compartidos y al enriquecimiento de las funciones académicas y científicas de ambas instituciones.

AGREEMENT: BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY (BYU) AND THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SAN CRISTÓBAL DE HUAMANGA (UNSCH)
The objective is to establish guidelines for collaboration between the parties, in order to promote and strengthen inter-institutional cooperation in various areas of common interest, and to implement joint research, development, and teaching projects at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

It also seeks the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and academic and scientific best practices; the mobility of students, researchers, faculty, and administrative staff between both institutions, promoting the internationalization of higher education.

Furthermore, the agreement will consolidate the promotion of scientific, cultural, university outreach, and social responsibility activities, as well as shared access to academic and technical resources.

This Agreement lays the groundwork for the conclusion of specific agreements that will define the specific commitments of each of the parties involved, thus enabling the implementation of concrete actions that contribute to achieving shared objectives and enhancing the academic and scientific functions of both institutions.
