El evento académico titulado “Taller Virtual: Revalorando el Rol de la Mujer Científica de la Macrorregión Norte”, busca fomentar la incorporación de científicas de las regiones del norte del país en una red de interacción con las academias de ciencias de Perú, Ecuador, Colombia, Brasil -países que limitan con el norte peruano-, además de Bolivia y Chile. La finalidad es revalorar el empoderamiento de la mujer peruana a través de la formación en ciencia y tecnología.

OBJETIVOS DEL TALLER DE MUJERES CIENTÍFICAS
El “Taller Virtual: Revalorando el Rol de la Mujer Científica de la Macrorregión Norte”, tiene como objetivo consolidar la red de mujeres científicas nacionales, generada en los talleres realizados en años anteriores, y organizarlas en diversos Grupos de Acción.

Asimismo, incentiva la conformación de equipos de investigación interinstitucionales y multidisciplinarios, en beneficio de la producción científica y tecnológica, y con visión de aplicación a las realidades en las regiones de procedencia de las participantes.

También, plantea un programa anual de trabajo, que optimice la labor de la mujer científica en su realidad académica y profesional, a través de acuerdos consensuados entre las participantes. Y propone la implementación de programas educativos con metodologías aplicables a la formación científica y tecnológica de niñas y jóvenes, con fines de empoderamiento académico y profesional temprano en la mujer.

PONENTES INVITADAS
Este año las ponentes internacionales invitadas al taller de mujeres científicas son las Puntos Focales del Programa Mujeres para la Ciencia (IANAS) de Ecuador, Dra. Jenny Ruales Nájera; Colombia, Dra. Ángela Camacho Beltrán; Brasil, Dra. Marcia C. Barbosa; Bolivia, Dra. Mónica Moraes Ramírez; y de Chile la Dra. Cecilia Hidalgo Tapia. La Dra. Ruth Shady Solís, Punto Focal Peruano (ANC – IANAS) y la Dra. Gisella Orjeda Fernández, expresidenta de CONCYTEC y presidenta de la Asociación Civil En Órbita, serán las que representarán a nuestro país en este importante evento académico.

Adicionalmente, como en el último taller organizado por el Punto Focal Peruano en Lima (2019), se contará con la participación de diez académicas jóvenes de la Macrorregión Norte, inscritas en el Registro Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Tecnológica (RENACYT) del CONCYTEC.

ENTIDAD ORGANIZADORA
A través del Punto Focal Peruano del Programa Mujeres para la Ciencia, la Academia nacional de Ciencias, en alianza estratégica con el CONCYTEC, ha venido realizando talleres de empoderamiento y de revaloración del rol de la mujer científica peruana. Mediante este esfuerzo conjunto se han efectuado cinco talleres de empoderamiento, uno a nivel nacional (en Lima, febrero de 2015) y cuatro descentralizados (Zona Norte, en Trujillo, mayo de 2015; Zona Oriente, en Pucallpa, agosto de 2015; Zona Sur, en Arequipa, diciembre de 2015; y Zona Centro, en Huancayo, noviembre de 2016).

Además, otro taller de alcance más amplio, de revaloración del rol de la mujer científica, se desarrolló en el Centro Cultural de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (Lima, 2019).

OBJECTIVES OF THE WOMEN SCIENTIFIC WORKSHOP
The “Virtual Workshop: Revaluing the Role of Women Scientists in the North Macroregion”, aims to consolidate the network of national women scientists, generated in the workshops held in previous years, and organize them into various Action Groups.

And it proposes the implementation of educational programs with methodologies applicable to the scientific and technological training of girls and young people, with the purpose of early academic and professional empowerment in women.

GUEST SPEAKERS
This year the international speakers invited to the workshop of women scientists are the Focal Points of the Women for Science Program (IANAS) of Ecuador, Dr. Jenny Ruales Nájera; Colombia, Dr. Ángela Camacho Beltrán; Brazil, Dr. Marcia C. Barbosa; Bolivia, Dra. Mónica Moraes Ramírez; and from Chile, Dr. Cecilia Hidalgo Tapia. Dr. Ruth Shady Solís, Peruvian Focal Point (ANC – IANAS) and Dr. Gisella Orjeda Fernández, former president of CONCYTEC and president of the Asociación Civil En Órbita, will represent our country in this important academic event.

Additionally, as in the last workshop organized by the Peruvian Focal Point in Lima (2019), there will be the participation of ten young academics from the North Macroregion, registered in the National Registry of Science, Technology and Technological Innovation (RENACYT) of CONCYTEC .

ORGANIZING ENTITY
Through the Peruvian Focal Point of the Women for Science Program, the National Academy of Sciences, in a strategic alliance with CONCYTEC, has been conducting empowerment and reassessment workshops on the role of Peruvian women scientists. Through this joint effort, five empowerment workshops have been carried out, one at the national level (in Lima, February 2015) and four decentralized (North Zone, in Trujillo, May 2015; East Zone, in Pucallpa, August 2015; South Zone , in Arequipa, December 2015; and Zona Centro, in Huancayo, November 2016).

In addition, another workshop with a broader scope, to reappraise the role of scientific women, was held at the Cultural Center of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (Lima, 2019).
