El día Lunes 28 de Junio en horas de la mañana, se efectuó la entrega formal de los alimentos, en el local de la sede central de la municipalidad de Zarumilla, ubicada en la Av. 28 de Julio, Plaza de Armas de la ciudad.

La donación fue formalmente entregada por Eduardo Melgar Arcaya, líder local de la Iglesia de Jesucristo en Tumbes, a John Cristian Palacios Palacios, Alcalde Provincial de Zarumilla, quien estuvo acompañado del Gerente Municipal Edson Panta y otros funcionarios de la municipalidad.

El alcalde John Palacios agradeció a la Iglesia de Jesucristo por la donación de alimentos que será distribuida entre la población vulnerable que mayormente se dedica al comercio, actividad que actualmente está restringida debido a la pandemia. Agradeció también a la Iglesia su acercamiento a la comunidad y su ejemplo de servicio y que es grato coordinar con la Iglesia los esfuerzos para atender a la población.

Luego Eduardo Melgar de la Iglesia de Jesucristo mencionó que la Iglesia está atenta a prestar servicio a la comunidad, especialmente en los momentos difíciles y que es posible gracias a la coordinación con las autoridades locales. Le acompañó Víctor Pereyra, Director de Comunicación de la Iglesia de Jesucristo en Tumbes.

Los alimentos entregados consistieron en leche evaporada, harina preparada, avena, grated de atún en aceite vegetal, lenteja, azúcar rubia, aceite vegetal, fideos y arroz. Cada bolsa con un peso de 15 kilos, que en total representan más de 11 toneladas de alimentos.
