Durante la ceremonia de inauguración del VIII Salón Internacional de Tecnología para la Defensa y Prevención de Desastres- SITDEF PERÚ 2021, el jefe de Estado indicó que el Perú hoy está redefiniendo su futuro y tiene claro la realidad que se quiere dejar atrás y el nuevo camino a construir.

“Queremos dejar atrás la pobreza y la desigualdad, que por décadas solo han generado sufrimiento y dolor en muchas familias. Queremos erradicar la corrupción, que se lleva el dinero que debe estar destinado a hospitales, escuelas y a alimentar a los más necesitados. Queremos que nuestros recursos naturales beneficien directamente al pueblo, de lo contrario, no podemos hablar de crecimiento ni desarrollo”, afirmó.

Castillo Terrones precisó que estos compromisos son irrenunciables, porque son un mandato recibido en las urnas y deben ser impulsados en el marco de la unidad entre autoridades y ciudadanos. El mandatario sostuvo que el Bicentenario debe marcar una nueva etapa de progreso y oportunidades para todos los peruanos, a fin de contar, asimismo, con instituciones sólidas como las Fuerzas Armadas.

En su condición de presidente de la República y jefe Supremo de las FF.AA., destacó que el SITDEF PERÚ 2021 exhibe lo nuevo en tecnología para la defensa y prevención de desastres naturales y promueve la integración de países que comparten una visión de desarrollo tecnológico, así como la modernización de las Fuerzas Armadas y la Policía Nacional, con los últimos avances en seguridad, tecnología, ciberseguridad y prevención de desastres. Refirió que, desde tiempos inmemoriales, el desarrollo siempre estuvo acompañado de la investigación, y que la estrecha relación entre civiles y militares ha permitido generar acciones en beneficio de los ciudadanos.

“Es fundamental que exista una estrecha colaboración entre la industria de la defensa y las entidades de investigación públicas y privadas, si realmente queremos impulsar un desarrollo efectivo y sostenible para nuestro país”, apuntó. El jefe de Estado recordó que el Perú, por su ubicación geográfica, está altamente expuesto a riesgos de desastres naturales y que el SITDEF PERU 2021 apunta a la formación de una cultura de prevención y alerta ciudadana para mitigar los daños personales y materiales que se puedan producir.

Destacó la participación conjunta en este evento del Ejército, la Marina de Guerra, la Fuerza Aérea, la Policía Nacional y el Instituto Nacional de Defensa Civil, como una demostración de que se debe trabajar unidos, poniendo por delante los intereses del Perú.
