Es la primera vez que el mandatario peruano liderará en la ceremonia de graduación de los alféreces de la Fuerza Aérea del Perú (FAP) promoción “Mayor FAP Aldo Emilio Consiglieri Muñoz”, en la misma clausurará el año académico de la Escuela de Oficiales “Capitán FAP José Abelardo Quiñones Gonzáles”.
Durante esta ceremonia, que se realizará en la Base Aérea Las Palmas, el presidente Castillo hará entrega de la Espada de Honor a la Cadete de cuarto Año Leonor Mayuri Palomino. La promoción correspondiente al año 2021 está integrada por 39 alféreces, de los cuales cuatro son mujeres.
La Escuela de Oficiales de la FAP tiene como misión formar a los futuros Oficiales de Armas, en la carrera de Ciencias Aeroespaciales, tanto en el aspecto militar, moral, físico, como académico y cultural. Esto dentro de una cultura de innovación, calidad, investigación y responsabilidad social.
Además, forma militarmente a los Oficiales Asimilados, a fin de asegurar su eficiente desempeño en los puestos que le asigne la Institución, con una permanente práctica de los valores esenciales de la Fuerza Aérea del Perú.
El mandatario ha mostrado su reconocimiento a las Fuerzas Armadas, entre ellas la Fuerza Aérea Peruana, al señalar el sacrificio que hacen por defender las fronteras del país y su permanente lucha contra el terrorismo. También destacó su sacrificio en las luchas del país y afirmó que son instituciones valerosas, honrosas, capaces de revertir situaciones adversas y convertirlas en triunfos.
Cabe resaltar la labor que desarrolla la Fuerza Aérea para modernizar sus instalaciones y mejorar sus capacidades a fin de cumplir su misión constitucional de defender la soberanía y contribuir al desarrollo, a la lucha contra la pobreza y a la gestión de riesgo de desastres.
