Ello tras el anuncio de la transnacional tecnológica Amazon Web Services (AWS) al elegir a nuestro país como sede de uno de sus centros mundiales de infraestructura de nube pública, dentro de su estrategia de expansión en América Latina.

“En el Perú hemos venido fortaleciendo la gobernanza digital y eso se refleja en los indicadores internacionales. Gracias a dichos avances, una de las empresas tecnológicas más grandes del mundo como Amazon Web Services ha apostado por nuestro país para convertirse en un centro de desarrollo digital”, sostuvo Marushka Chocobar, secretaria de Gobierno y Transformación Digital de la PCM.

AWS colocará los servicios de computación, almacenamiento, bases de datos y otros servicios de nube cerca de grandes centros de población, industria y tecnologías de la información. Esto permite implementar aplicaciones como juegos remotos en tiempo real, creación de contenido multimedia y de entretenimiento, transmisión de video en vivo, simulaciones de ingeniería, realidad virtual y aumentada, inferencia de aprendizaje automático en el edge y más.

Este nivel de inversión en infraestructura y plataformas digitales en el Perú abrirá grandes oportunidades para el ecosistema digital del país, así como para la reactivación económica, la empleabilidad, el emprendimiento digital y el proceso nacional de transformación digital.

“De esta forma, Amazon se suma a otra transnacional mundial que también apostó por invertir en infraestructura local de nube en el Perú, como Huawei. Ello permitirá acelerar el cierre de brechas digitales y el aprovechamiento de las tecnologías de industria 4.0 a nivel nacional, en línea con el eje 8 de la Política General de Gobierno. Esto, a su vez, generará el reto de fortalecer el talento digital en todas las regiones del país”, concluyó Chocobar.
