Mincetur participó en Ginebra Suiza en n12° Conferencia Ministerial de OMC sobre negociación de subsidios de pesca y reforma de la agricultura.

Durante las primeras horas del día martes 14 de junio, la viceministra formó parte de la sesión de negociación sobre subsidios a la pesca y disposiciones que permitan establecer reglas en beneficio del medioambiente y la vida marina. El objetivo de la sesión es lograr acuerdos concretos antes de terminar la Conferencia Ministerial.

Ya por la tarde, la delegación también participó en el debate de un plan estratégico sobre la reforma de la agricultura en la OMC.

En esa línea, la viceministra participó también de una reunión de alto nivel con países latinoamericanos. En ella, se adoptó una Declaración Conjunta sobre la reforma de las reglas multilaterales del comercio agropecuario.

“Estamos seguros que los resultados que obtendremos en esta Conferencia serán ambiciosos y reafirmarán el pleno compromiso de todos los países miembros con el sistema multilateral del comercio”, declaró.

REUNIONES BILATERALES
Durante la segunda jornada de la Conferencia Ministerial, la viceministra Gervasi se reunió con el Viceministro de Comercio Exterior e Integración de Bolivia, Benjamín Blanco. Durante la conversación, acordaron trabajar en conjunto por fortalecer el comercio bilateral.

Perú es Miembro de la OMC desde el 1°de enero de 1995. Durante ese año, el monto del comercio peruano junto a los miembros de la Organización, alcanzó los US$ 13 mil millones. En 2021, la cifra superó los US$ 110 mil millones, valor siete veces mayor al registrado en 1995.

Las exportaciones peruanas se incrementaron de US$ 5 mil millones en 1995, a más de US$ 59 mil millones en 2021.

During the early hours of Tuesday, June 14, the deputy minister was part of the negotiation session on fishing subsidies and provisions that allow rules to be established for the benefit of the environment and marine life. The objective of the session is to reach concrete agreements before the end of the Ministerial Conference.

In the afternoon, the delegation also participated in the debate on a strategic plan on agricultural reform at the WTO.

Along these lines, the deputy minister also participated in a high-level meeting with Latin American countries. In it, a Joint Declaration on the reform of the multilateral rules of agricultural trade was adopted.

“We are sure that the results we will obtain at this Conference will be ambitious and will reaffirm the full commitment of all member countries to the multilateral trading system,” he declared.

BILATERAL MEETINGS
During the second day of the Ministerial Conference, Vice Minister Gervasi met with the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Integration of Bolivia, Benjamín Blanco. During the conversation, they agreed to work together to strengthen bilateral trade.
