Esto será posible debido a que esta mañana, en Normas Legales del Diario Oficial El Peruano, se publicó el Acuerdo Proinversión Nº 118-3-2022-CD, el cual incorpora este trascendental proyecto al proceso de promoción de la inversión privada.

“Esta es una importante noticia que potenciará la oferta turística y recreativa en la zona histórica de Lima Metropolitana y el distrito del Rímac. También permitirá implementar un sistema de transporte por cable seguro, confiable y confortable, que permita a los turistas nacionales y extranjeros acceder al mirador ubicado en la cima del Cerro San Cristóbal, y así contribuir al cierre de la brecha del acceso a los servicios turísticos públicos en la zona monumental del Rímac”, indicó el titular del Mincetur.

Añadió que este proyecto se complementará con el proyecto de Mejoramiento de los servicios turísticos públicos del circuito turístico de la Zona Monumental del Rímac a cargo de Plan Copesco Nacional y que tiene una inversión estimada de S/ 55 millones, permitiendo la consolidación y diversificación de la oferta actual en la ciudad de Lima, promoviendo espacios y servicios turísticos para la población de Lima, en especial de la zona norte y este de la ciudad, mejorando las condiciones socioeconómicas de la población local.

Cabe señalar que el proyecto Teleférico Centro Histórico de Lima – Cerro San Cristóbal estará a cargo del Mincetur y su modalidad será de Asociación Publico Privada Autofinanciada. El costo de inversión tiene un valor referencial de US$ 20 millones. La operación y mantenimiento estará a cargo de un inversionista privado, por lo que no será necesario requerir de recursos públicos. Se espera poder beneficiar a cerca de 7 mil usuarios por semana, durante el primer año de operación.

“Este es un gran anuncio que confirma el compromiso del Ejecutivo de impulsar la inversión privada. Este proyecto estuvo desde el año 2018 en espera y hoy se ha logrado un importante paso para su futura ejecución gracias a este gobierno democrático. Próximamente, Proinversión iniciará el Proceso de Selección, que conlleve a una adjudicación transparente del proyecto. Seguimos trabajando para consolidar al Perú como un destino turístico competitivo, sostenible de calidad y seguro”, aseveró el ministro Sánchez.

Como se recuerda, el proyecto del Teleférico Centro Histórico de Lima – Cerro San Cristóbal se inició bajo una iniciativa privada, el cual incluía el diseño, construcción, financiamiento, operación y mantenimiento de un sistema de transporte por cable que facilite el acceso al recurso turístico Cerro San Cristóbal por parte de los visitantes del Circuito Turístico del Centro Histórico de Lima.
