La ceremonia se realizó en la capilla Limatambo de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días, con el propósito de agradecer a Dios, orar por el bienestar de los peruanos y brindar esperanza desde las diferentes confesiones de fe.

El mandatario estuvo acompañado de la primera dama, Lilia Paredes; así como de los ministros de Salud, Jorge López Peña; de Energía y Minas, Alessandra Herrera Jara; de Relaciones Exteriores, César Landa Arroy; de Comercio Exterior y Turismo. Roberto Sánchez Palomino, de Cultura Alejandro Salas Zegarra.

A su llegada, fue recibido por monseñor Salvador Piñeiro, arzobispo de Ayacucho, copresidente del Consejo Interreligioso del Perú; Laura Vargas, secretaria ejecutiva del Consejo Interreligioso del Perú, y Élder Jorge Zeballos, superior regional de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días.

Durante la ceremonia, se oró por las víctimas de la Covid-19, por las familias organizadas en las ollas comunes, por las personas vulnerables, por los migrantes, por las autoridades, por la unidad del país.

El Consejo Interreligioso, creado hace 14 años, tiene como finalidad generar un espacio de encuentro, diálogo, fraternidad y cooperación de las comunidades religiosas; promoviendo la justicia, la paz, la solidaridad, el cuidado de la creación y la promoción de los valores éticos y morales en el país.

Está integrado por la Conferencia Episcopal Peruana, el Concilio Nacional Evangélico del Perú, la Unión de Iglesias Cristianas Evangélicas del Perú, la Iglesia Anglicana del Perú, la Iglesia Luterana del Perú, la Iglesia Metodista del Perú, la Iglesia Evangélica Presbiteriana y Reformada en el Perú, la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día, la Iglesia Ortodoxa Griega del Patriarcado de Antioquia, la Iglesia de Jesucristo, la Asociación Judía del Perú, la Asociación Islámica del Perú, la Comunidad Bahá’í del Perú, la Comunidad Zen Sotoshu del Perú y Brahma Kumaris Perú.
