Tras haber recibido el saludo de su Gabinete Ministerial, el mandatario se desplazó a la sede de la Catedral acompañado de la primera dama, Lilia Paredes Navarro, a las 8:30 horas. También asisten la vicepresidenta de la República, Dina Boluarte Zegarra; el presidente del Consejo de Ministros, Aníbal Torres Vásquez, ministros de Estado y diversas autoridades.
El jefe de Estado, Pedro Castillo, retornará junto a la Primera Dama hacia Palacio de Gobierno para desplazarse luego hacia el Congreso de la República para la sesión solemne.
El Te Deum, traducido al español como “A ti, Dios”, es un antiguo himno de alabanza y representa una acción de gracias al Todopoderoso. Este ritual religioso marca el inicio de las celebraciones por el aniversario patrio.
Hoy 28 de julio se celebra un año más de la proclamación de la independencia realizada por el libertador don José de San Martín. Esta fecha es considerada una festividad en nuestro país ya que se recuerda el fin del virreinato y el inicio de la etapa republicana. Además, cada 28 de julio se festeja la cultura, identidad y costumbres peruanas adquiridas en más de 200 años.
