Cabe señalar que la OEC, tiene como funciones apoyar a los Congresistas para el ejercicio de la función de representación, fortaleciendo los vínculos con los gobiernos regionales, locales y las instituciones de la sociedad civil, siguiendo los lineamientos de la Mesa Directiva para el logro efectivo de la descentralización.
“La OEC tiene como finalidad proporcionar el apoyo requerido para el ejercicio de la función de representación de cada Grupo Parlamentario por Departamentos (GPD), en el seguimiento de proyectos de inversión pública en su circunscripción…”, sostuvo Soto.
En otro orden de ideas, la jefa de la OEC, Isabel Soto manifestó que dicha oficina tiene como misión apoyar a la función de representación que ejercen los Grupos parlamentarios en las regiones del país en materia de proyectos de inversiones públicas y de interacción con los gobiernos regionales y locales, mediante el análisis, seguimiento y evaluación técnica con información que generan los organismos públicos en el ámbito de su competencia.
