La mandataria precisó que todas las instituciones del Estado harán prevalecer la ley y el orden para devolverle la seguridad a la ciudadanía.

“Así como decimos lucha frontal contra la corrupción, desde acá decimos también lucha contra el crimen organizado. Las peruanas y los peruanos queremos vivir en paz, queremos trabajar y la Patria se quiere desarrollar”, enfatizó.

Precisó que el Gobierno tiene el compromiso con la Policía de mejorar la infraestructura de las comisarías y su equipamiento.

Dijo además que ha dispuesto que los policías que realizan labores administrativas, salgan a cumplir funciones operativas en las calles y colegios en horas punta, a fin de redoblar los esfuerzos en favor de la seguridad.

Asimismo, la mandataria refirió que se incrementarán las operaciones de incautación en los penales y en los lugares de comercialización de celulares robados, se harán patrullajes conjuntos entre la policía y serenazgo, y se impulsará la modificación del Código Penal para endurecer las sanciones contra los delincuentes.

En la primera sesión del Conasec participaron el presidente del Consejo de Ministros, Alberto Otárola, y los ministros del Interior, Justicia y Derechos Humanos, Educación, Salud, Economía, Comercio Exterior y Turismo, de la Mujer y Poblaciones Vulnerables y de Desarrollo e Inclusión Social.

Estuvieron también la fiscal de la Nación, Patricia Benavides; la defensora del pueblo, Eliana Revollar; el alcalde de Lima, Rafael López Aliaga; el comandante general de la Policía Nacional, Raúl Alfaro; el jefe del Instituto Nacional Penitenciario, Federico Llaque, y el jefe del Cuerpo de Bomberos, Luis Ponce.

Entre los acuerdos adoptados por el Conasec se encuentran fortalecer los programas Barrio Seguro y Vecindario Seguro, la investigación criminal, revisar el marco legal migratorio y solicitar la delegación de facultades al Ejecutivo en temas de seguridad.
