Durante la ceremonia por el Día de la Respuesta y Honor Nacional, que recuerda la figura del coronel Francisco Bolognesi, la mandataria remarcó que nuestro héroe nacional simboliza los más altos valores de la peruanidad, y que quedan como legado para las futuras generaciones.

“Bolognesi nos demostró que la virtud del honor no se pierde y que, si hay que llegar al sacrificio, se hace por una causa noble, y esa causa no es otra que la defensa de la patria, de su soberanía y su integridad”, manifestó la jefa de Estado en su discurso.

“Bolognesi vuelve para darnos fe y confianza en nosotros mismos, para decirnos que, con esfuerzo y unidad, podemos alcanzar la justicia social y la paz que tanto anhelamos”, agregó la dignataria tras formular un llamado a las peruanas y peruanos, a fin de trabajar juntos por un país más justo, equitativo, inclusivo y con esperanza.

“Los invoco a reflexionar sobre el significado de las heroicas acciones que han forjado nuestra patria. Que esas gestas sean un aliciente que nos permitan sentar las bases para el progreso y el desarrollo”, puntualizó la presidenta Boluarte.

La mandataria participó en la ceremonia junto al ministro de Defensa, Jorge Chávez, y autoridades castrenses; allí entregó al Ejército peruano las charreteras de Bolognesi, distintivos que constituyen un baluarte de la identidad nacional.

El Día de la Respuesta y Honor Nacional conmemora la contundente respuesta que dio el coronel Bolognesi el 5 de junio de 1880 a quienes pedían su rendición en Arica, durante la Guerra del Pacífico: “Tengo deberes sagrados que cumplir y los cumpliré hasta quemar el último cartucho”.

During the ceremony for the Day of National Response and Honor, which recalls the figure of Colonel Francisco Bolognesi, the president remarked that our national hero symbolizes the highest values ​​of Peru, and that they remain as a legacy for future generations.

“Bolognesi showed us that the virtue of honor is not lost and that, if sacrifice has to be made, it is done for a noble cause, and that cause is none other than the defense of the country, its sovereignty and its integrity”, said the head of state in her speech.

“Bolognesi returns to give us faith and confidence in ourselves, to tell us that, with effort and unity, we can achieve the social justice and peace that we so long for,” added the dignitary after formulating a call to Peruvians, in order to work together for a more just, equitable, inclusive and hopeful country.

“I call on you to reflect on the meaning of the heroic actions that have forged our homeland. That these deeds are an incentive that allow us to lay the foundations for progress and development”, pointed out President Boluarte.

The president participated in the ceremony together with the Minister of Defense, Jorge Chávez, and military authorities; there he delivered the Bolognesi epaulettes to the Peruvian Army, badges that constitute a bulwark of national identity.

The National Response and Honor Day commemorates the forceful response given by Colonel Bolognesi on June 5, 1880 to those who called for his surrender in Arica, during the War of the Pacific: “I have sacred duties to fulfill and I will fulfill them until I burn the last cartridge”.
