Agencia Peruana de Noticias PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe/ Twitter: @prensaperupe Como una demostración del compromiso descentralista del Gobierno, la presidenta Dina Boluarte anunció que el Foro APEC Perú 2024, que se realizará en nuestro país, tendrá como sedes de sus reuniones Lima, Cusco, Trujillo, Ucayali y Arequipa.

Trujillo, según indicó la mandataria, será sede de la Semana de la Seguridad Alimentaria y de la Reunión de ministros de Agricultura; mientras que en Arequipa tendrá lugar la sesión conjunta entre los ministros de Mujer y de Comercio, para evaluar medidas que contribuyan al empoderamiento de las mujeres en el comercio exterior.

En tanto, Urubamba, en el Cusco, acogerá a los ministros de Turismo de las 21 economías del Asia Pacífico, y en Ucayali se realizarán las reuniones de ministros y del grupo de trabajo referidos a las pequeñas y medianas empresas.

“Finalmente, tendremos como última sede a nuestra capital, Lima, ciudad de los emprendedores y motor del país, que recibirá no solo diversas reuniones de los equipos que son parte de APEC, sino que acogerá la semana de líderes económicos de este mecanismo, en noviembre del 2024”, afirmó.

Remarcó, además, que se impulsará la iniciativa “APEC Ciudadano PERÚ 2024”, con el fin de acercar los beneficios del Foro APEC a la ciudadanía; y se incorporará en la agenda del mecanismo temas relacionados con las necesidades de la población, sobre todo a la más vulnerable, promoviendo el comercio, la inversión, la innovación y el crecimiento sostenible.

La presidenta Boluarte destacó también que asumir la presidencia del Foro APEC, en el 2024, es para el Perú una clara señal del reconocimiento de nuestro país como un socio confiable por parte de las economías del Asia Pacífico, y será fundamental para su proyección en dicha región.

“Por tercera vez volveremos a ser anfitriones de una reunión que concentrará la mirada del mundo en nuestra patria (…) El éxito del APEC es un esfuerzo nacional que requiere de la participación de todos. El Perú espera con los brazos abiertos a los ilustres visitantes de las economías que integran el Asia Pacífico”, puntualizó.

Trujillo, according to the president, will host the Food Safety Week and the Meeting of Agriculture Ministers; while in Arequipa the joint session between the Ministers of Women and Commerce will take place, to evaluate measures that contribute to the empowerment of women in foreign trade.

Meanwhile, Urubamba, in Cusco, will host the Ministers of Tourism of the 21 economies of the Asia Pacific, and in Ucayali the meetings of ministers and the working group referring to small and medium-sized businesses will be held.

“Finally, we will have as our last headquarters our capital, Lima, city of entrepreneurs and driving force of the country, which will not only host various meetings of the teams that are part of APEC, but will also host the week of economic leaders of this mechanism, in November 2024,” he stated.

He also highlighted that the “APEC Citizen PERU 2024” initiative will be promoted, in order to bring the benefits of the APEC Forum closer to citizens; and topics related to the needs of the population, especially the most vulnerable, will be incorporated into the mechanism’s agenda, promoting trade, investment, innovation and sustainable growth.

President Boluarte also highlighted that assuming the presidency of the APEC Forum, in 2024, is for Peru a clear sign of the recognition of our country as a reliable partner by the economies of the Asia Pacific, and will be fundamental for its projection in said region.

“For the third time we will once again host a meeting that will focus the world’s gaze on our homeland (…) The success of APEC is a national effort that requires the participation of everyone. “Peru awaits with open arms the illustrious visitors from the economies that make up the Asia Pacific,” he stated.
