“Lograr la transición hacia una matriz más limpia y sostenible es fundamental. Este hecho marca el inicio de ese camino y es una muestra de que en el Perú se puede innovar para mejorar la calidad de vida de los ciudadanos cuando los sectores privado y público trabajan de forma coordinada”, dijo el presidente de la ATU, José Aguilar.

En ese sentido, destacó el reglamento emitido recientemente por la entidad que regulará el nuevo régimen de autorizaciones de rutas, en el que se establecen las condiciones y se dan los incentivos para que las empresas de transporte puedan renovar sus flotas con unidades eléctricas, a gas o híbridas.

Por su parte, el ministro de Transportes y Comunicaciones, Raúl Pérez Reyes Espejo, resaltó que la política que promueve su sector no solo de tener un transporte seguro y fiscalizado, sino también sostenible. “El MTC está trabajando en una estrategia conjuntamente con la ATU para promover que la mayor parte de las empresas de transporte pasen de vehículos diésel a eléctricos”, dijo.

El bus eléctrico de 12 metros presentado pasará a formar parte de la flota de la empresa Urbanito, como un plan piloto para validar sus beneficios y eficiencia en campo, y se le incorporará además el pago sin contacto para el cobro de pasajes, lo que implica también un salto cualitativo en la calidad del servicio.

“Hemos logrado desarrollar una pasarela de pago interoperable para atender mejor las necesidades de los usuarios”, comentó a su turno Edgardo Ramírez, gerente general de AEMUS, en referencia a la tarjeta Movilízate.

De esta manera, la ATU, organismo técnico adscrito al MTC, reitera su compromiso de seguir trabajando con todos los actores del sector para lograr un transporte rápido, seguro y formal, que además sea ambiental y económicamente sostenible, en beneficio de limeños y chalacos.
