Durante la visita a Palacio de Gobierno, la directora de la OMC felicitó a la mandataria por mantener una gestión macroeconómica sólida en el país y resaltó el crecimiento sostenible que el Perú ha experimentado en los últimos 25 años, con una tasa promedio de expansión entre el 5% y el 6%.

“Este rendimiento ha contribuido significativamente a la reducción de los niveles de pobreza a nivel nacional. Observamos que el Perú ha demostrado una notable resiliencia en su economía, y anticipamos que este crecimiento económico continuará en los próximos años”, remarcó.

Durante la reunión, la jefa de Estado reiteró el compromiso firme del Perú de contribuir activamente al desarrollo del comercio internacional, abordando temas como la economía digital, la internacionalización de las micro, pequeñas y medianas empresas (Mipymes), así como la promoción del papel de la mujer y su contribución a la actividad económica y comercial.

“Este encuentro nos brinda la oportunidad de reiterar la posición del Perú a favor del comercio abierto, basado en reglas justas, claras y predecibles”, enfatizó la mandataria.

Asimismo, aseguró que el país continuará promoviendo el diálogo entre los miembros de la OMC para abordar la problemática de la sobrepesca a nivel mundial y actualizar las normas de comercio de productos agrícolas.

MUJERES LÍDERES
En el marco de la visita de la directora general Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala al Perú, la presidenta se reunió con mujeres líderes empresarias, a quienes reafirmó el compromiso de trabajar en la internacionalización de sus empresas para fortalecer su empoderamiento y superar las barreras del machismo y la desigualdad de género.

“Estamos comprometidos a facilitar la comercialización de los productos que ustedes elaboran en los principales mercados internacionales. Desde ya, nos sentimos orgullosas de su esfuerzo y las apoyaremos en este proceso de internacionalización”, destacó la mandataria.

En el encuentro con mujeres líderes, también estuvieron presentes el presidente del Consejo de Ministros, Gustavo Adrianzén, el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores, Javier González-Olaechea, entre otras autoridades. Además, la artesana Olinda Silvano, la productora Guadalupe Vera y la empresaria Yrma Cervera.
