La iniciativa busca la participación de artistas en las categorías pintura y artes plásticas a fin que, sus obras puedan plasmar el sentir de los peruanos desde las diferentes perspectivas históricas y/o desde la memoria social de los 200 años la Batalla de Junín, hecho que marcó el inicio de acción de las fuerzas patriotas para sellar la independencia del Perú el 6 de agosto de 1824.

“Buscamos fomentar la historia de la Batalla de Junín a través del arte, posicionar los valores, tradiciones y costumbres de la festividad, que nos une como latinoamericanos en la búsqueda de libertad de toda la región. Este Bicentenario también nos permite celebrar y rendir un homenaje a aquellos que hoy siguen trabajando por la puesta en valor de sus tradiciones a través del legado histórico, sus expresiones artísticas y culturales”, enfatizó el director de la Dirección de Comercio Exterior y Turismo de Junín, José Luis Álvarez.

Los ganadores de cada categoría recibirán un premio de 20 mil soles, mientras que los que queden en segundo lugar, se les otorgará 10 mil soles. Las obras de todos ellos, pasarán a formar parte del museo de la región.

Cabe precisar que la inscripción culmina el próximo 6 de julio y la participación está dirigida a mayores de edad. Para el caso del concurso de pintura es una convocatoria internacional, mientras que el de artes tradicionales se busca la participación de ciudadanos peruanos de todas las regiones del país.
