En ese sentido, el titular de la PCM, saludó la reciente promulgación de la Ley N.º 32134, promovida desde la SDOT y que establece la definición de 215 kilómetros de límites entre Arequipa y Cusco, con lo que se resuelve una controversia que se extendió por más de 14 años, en beneficio de más de 240 mil personas que viven en dichos territorios.

“La definición de límites entre Arequipa y Cusco representa un logro significativo para la organización territorial del país. Se trata de un acuerdo alcanzado con la activa participación de las autoridades de ambas regiones y un trabajo de campo intenso realizado con las diversas comunidades que viven en las zonas de colindancia”, sostuvo el jefe del Gabinete Ministerial.

La Ley N.º 32134, publicada en el boletín de Normas Legales del diario oficial “El Peruano”, define 7 tramos de límites que comprenden a 5 provincias: Chumbivilcas y Espinar en Cusco, así como a La Unión, Condesuyos y Caylloma en Arequipa. Estas áreas representan el 60 % de la colindancia entre ambos departamentos, cuyas poblaciones ahora tendrán certeza sobre su pertenencia territorial.

La nueva normativa aprueba también la memoria descriptiva de los límites fijados entre los dos departamentos y la correspondiente representación cartográfica.

MÁS ACUERDOS LIMÍTROFES
En lo que va de octubre, el Consejo de Ministros aprobó dos iniciativas para la definición de límites departamentales entre Arequipa e Ica y entre Arequipa y Ayacucho, que deberán ser evaluadas por el Congreso de la República.

Estos logros demuestran que el diálogo y la cooperación entre diferentes niveles de gobierno pueden conducir a soluciones que beneficien a todos los ciudadanos, fortaleciendo la organización territorial del país y promoviendo el desarrollo territorial.
