Durante una reunión de trabajo realizada en el Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia Nacional (COEN), con la participación de ministros de sectores clave y funcionarios responsables de las acciones preventivas, la jefa de Estado reafirmó el compromiso de su gestión con una respuesta rápida y eficiente para proteger a la población.

“Como Gobierno siempre hemos planteado el interés y la importancia de trabajar en la prevención para mitigar impactos. Esa siempre ha sido nuestra política de Gobierno: actuar de manera preventiva”, subrayó la presidenta.

En este sentido, informó que se han realizado acciones anticipadas como la adquisición de maquinaria moderna para sectores clave como Agricultura, Transportes, Vivienda y Defensa, asegurando la capacidad de respuesta inmediata ante cualquier eventualidad.

“Los ministros y funcionarios presentes en el COEN no nos estamos conociendo hoy. Hemos estado trabajando previamente en labores de prevención. Nos encontramos aquí para recibir información, evaluar los avances en dicho trabajo preventivo y, en caso de que estos sean insuficientes, tomar decisiones inmediatas y acelerar las acciones necesarias para garantizar un progreso efectivo”, enfatizó la mandataria.

Entre las medidas destacadas, la mandataria subrayó la ejecución de labores de descolmatación de cauces en las zonas vulnerables. Hoy el Ministerio de Vivienda, Construcción y Saneamiento cuenta con 18 Unidades Básicas Operativas (UBO), las cuales realizan trabajos preventivos de limpieza y descolmatación.

En el año anterior, 169 maquinarias pesadas y 217 vehículos realizaron 628 intervenciones en las regiones de Puno, San Martín, Tacna, Tumbes, Amazonas, Loreto, Callao, Apurímac, Pasco, Áncash, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Ica, Junín, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Lima, Piura y Huánuco, logrando la limpieza de casi 600 kilómetros de tramos vulnerables ante las lluvias.

“Garantizar cauces limpios es fundamental para mitigar los daños ocasionados por los huaicos. Aunque las labores de descolmatación implican costos elevados, su ejecución es indispensable. La falta de mantenimiento provoca desbordes que afectan carreteras, tuberías y viviendas, además de generar enfermedades como el dengue, la gripe y diversas afecciones estomacales, entre otras”, explicó la jefa de Estado.

Asimismo, indicó que, en coordinación con el Ministerio de Defensa, se han asegurado almacenes estratégicos en las regiones más afectadas, con carpas, alimentos, agua y otros recursos necesarios para atender a las familias damnificadas.

Por su parte, agregó, el Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC) ha garantizado la disponibilidad de puentes modulares para reemplazar aquellos que pudieran ser destruidos por las lluvias. “Estamos preparados. Nuestro interés como Gobierno es proteger a nuestra población”, aseveró.

SOBREVUELO
Posterior a la reunión de trabajo en el COEN, la jefa de Estado realizó un sobrevuelo de inspección por los puntos críticos del río Rímac. Asimismo, supervisó los avances de la limpieza y descolmatación en el sector Praderas, del distrito de Lurigancho, destinados a reforzar las acciones de prevención ante posibles emergencias.
