Esta iniciativa busca asegurar avances concretos en la masificación de este recurso, largamente esperado por la población de la región.

Así lo afirmó el presidente del Consejo de Ministros, Gustavo Adrianzén, en la reunión técnica de trabajo Gasoducto del Sur Andino llevada a cabo en el distrito de San Jerónimo de la provincia del Cusco. “Hemos traído una propuesta que está fundamentada técnicamente por el Ministerio de Energía y Minas; que es viable según la apreciación y el informe que ha traído Proinversión, y que económicamente está sustentada por el Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas”, añadió.

Durante la cita, el titular de la Presidencia del Consejo de Ministros (PCM) informó que el plan de trabajo propuesto también considera la instalación de una mesa de seguimiento, con la participación de diversos actores, que garanticen el cumplimiento de los acuerdos.

El encuentro contó con la participación de los ministros de Economía y Finanzas, José Salardi, y Energía y Minas, Jorge Montero; el gobernador regional, Werner Salcedo, y el director ejecutivo de Proinversión, Luis Natal del Carpio.

También estuvieron presentes los viceministros de Gobernanza Territorial de la PCM, Juan Haro; de Economía, del Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas (MEF), Denisse Miralles, y de Hidrocarburos, del Ministerio de Energía y Minas (Minem), Iris Cárdenas, así como los alcaldes provinciales de la región cusqueña y las autoridades distritales de la provincia de La Convención representantes de organizaciones sociales.

De otro lado, el titular del Minem señaló que los acuerdos que se alcancen con las autoridades cusqueñas serán consignados en un decreto supremo que también incluirá la hoja de ruta para la masificación del gas en Cusco.

Por su parte, el ministro de Economía enfatizó que la propuesta presentada será financiada en su totalidad por el Gobierno nacional y reafirmó que se cuenta con trabajos previos que permitirán a Proinversión cumplir con los plazos previstos.

Al respecto, el director de Proinversión, Luis Natal del Carpio, precisó que los estudios de preinversión podrán ser culminados en un plazo de seis meses, tras lo cual se seleccionará al concesionario que se encargará por los próximos 20 o 30 años de llevar el gas a Cusco. “Yo creo que a mediados del próximo año el gas debería estar en los hogares cusqueños”, expresó.

Las reuniones entre el Gobierno nacional y las autoridades de esta parte del país continuarán el viernes 4 de abril en Lima, con miras a poner fin a años de estancamiento en la masificación del gas en Cusco, asegurando un cronograma claro y financiamiento garantizado.

Also present were the Deputy Ministers of Territorial Governance of the PCM, Juan Haro; of Economy, of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Denisse Miralles; and of Hydrocarbons, of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem), Iris Cárdenas, as well as the provincial mayors of the Cusco region and the district authorities of the province of La Convención, representing social organizations.

Furthermore, the head of the Ministry of Energy and Mines indicated that the agreements reached with the Cusco authorities will be recorded in a supreme decree that will also include the roadmap for the massification of gas in Cusco.

For his part, the Minister of Economy emphasized that the proposal presented will be fully financed by the national government and reaffirmed that preliminary work is underway that will allow Proinversión to meet the planned deadlines.

In this regard, the director of Proinversión, Luis Natal del Carpio, specified that the pre-investment studies can be completed within six months, after which the concessionaire responsible for bringing gas to Cusco for the next 20 to 30 years will be selected. “I believe that gas should be available in Cusco homes by the middle of next year,” he expressed.

Meetings between the national government and authorities from this part of the country will continue on Friday, April 4, in Lima, with the aim of ending years of stagnation in the widespread use of gas in Cusco, ensuring a clear timeline and guaranteed financing.
