Agencia Peruana de Noticias PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe/ Twitter: @prensaperupe Con la finalidad de fortalecer la seguridad ciudadana, desterrar actos delictivos e imponer el principio de autoridad en el Penal de Challapalca (Tarata, Tacna), el Ministerio de Justicia y Derechos Humanos (MINJUSDH) y el Instituto Penitenciario (INPE) inauguraron el Centro de Monitoreo y Control con Inteligencia Artificial, un moderno sistema que pone a este penal de máxima seguridad a la vanguardia tecnológica del control penitenciario.

Se trata de 138 cámaras de videovigilancia de última generación, las que están interconectadas a una central de monitoreo que opera con inteligencia artificial, lo que robustece -con el talento humano de los servidores penitenciarios- el control penitenciario, la reducción de riesgos y la seguridad, tanto al interior como al exterior del penal.

La actividad fue liderada por el viceministro de Justicia, Enrique Alcántara, quien señaló que “existe el compromiso de la presidenta Dina Boluarte, del ministro Eduardo Arana y de todo el Sector Justicia por fortalecer la seguridad de los penales, lo que repercute en una sociedad más segura”.

“Este moderno sistema, de avanzada tecnología, es una herramienta concreta para la seguridad en el penal. Lo que hoy entregamos está interconectado a la base de datos del Reniec e Interpol, lo que nos permite actuar ante cualquier amenaza y, sobre todo, identificar en tiempo real cualquier situación irregular en este penal”, agregó.

MONITOREO 24/7 PARA MAYOR CONTROL
Al nuevo sistema de control con inteligencia artificial del Penal de Challapalca, que demandó una inversión de más de S/ 16 millones, se le suma la puesta en marcha de equipos de rayos X-IA capaces de detectar elementos prohibidos en paquetes y personas.

El vicepresidente del Instituto Nacional Penitenciario, Marlon Florentini, destacó que este Centro de Control y Monitoreo moderniza la gestión penitenciaria.

“Challapalca cuenta ahora con cámaras, video wall, data center y un sistema de energía independiente que asegura el funcionamiento continuo de este sistema las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana, de manera ininterrumpida”, señaló.

Esta solución integral de seguridad y vigilancia va de la mano con la capacitación técnico-especializada que recibirá el personal del INPE para operar la moderna tecnología, que está reforzada con alarmas y parlantes de seguridad en todo el perímetro del establecimiento penitenciario.

A ello se suma la próxima mejora de las condiciones y espacios de labores del personal penitenciario, el cual trabaja para mantener el orden en el Penal de Challapalca, ubicado a 5050 m. s. n. m.

The event consists of 138 state-of-the-art video surveillance cameras, interconnected to a monitoring center powered by artificial intelligence. This, with the help of the human talent of prison officers, strengthens prison control, risk reduction, and security, both inside and outside the prison.

The event was led by Deputy Minister of Justice Enrique Alcántara, who stated that “President Dina Boluarte, Minister Eduardo Arana, and the entire Justice Sector are committed to strengthening prison security, which will contribute to a safer society.”

“This modern, state-of-the-art system is a concrete tool for prison security. What we are delivering today is interconnected with the RENIEC and INTERPOL databases, allowing us to respond to any threat and, above all, identify any irregular situation in this prison in real time,” he added.

24/7 MONITORING FOR GREATER CONTROL
The new artificial intelligence control system at Challapalca Prison, which required an investment of more than S/ 16 million, is complemented by the implementation of AI X-ray equipment capable of detecting prohibited items in packages and people.

The Vice President of the National Penitentiary Institute, Marlon Florentini, emphasized that this Control and Monitoring Center modernizes prison management.

“Challapalca now has cameras, a video wall, a data center, and an independent power system that ensures the continuous operation of this system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without interruption,” he noted.

This comprehensive security and surveillance solution goes hand in hand with the specialized technical training that INPE staff will receive to operate the modern technology, which is reinforced with security alarms and speakers throughout the entire perimeter of the penitentiary.

This is in addition to the upcoming improvement of the working conditions and spaces for prison staff, who work to maintain order at the Challapalca Prison, located at 5,050 meters above sea level.
