El día Domingo 12 de Setiembre al medio día con la asistencia de autoridades del distrito de Salas se inauguró el pozo de agua en que abastecerá de agua potable a las familias que habitan en ese sector rural del distrito.
El economista Tony Mesones Flores, Alcalde de Salas, el Teniente Alcalde Revelino De la Cruz Tojas y la regidora Rosa Elvira Fernández Olivera acompañaron a Walter Tafur Mesta, líder local de la Iglesia de Jesucristo en Lambayeque e inauguraron el pozo con el agradecimiento de las familias beneficiadas.
Pobladores y autoridades municipales se mostraron felices por la inauguración del pozo tubular instalado en cooperación entre la Iglesia de Jesucristo y la Municipalidad Distrital de Salas. Las familias ahora pueden disfrutar de agua limpia apta para el consumo humano, ya que desde que se fundó el caserío consumían agua de pozos superficiales en no buenas condiciones y que causaba diversas enfermedades a los moradores de la zona.
El alcalde agradeció la ayuda de La Iglesia y mencionó que este tipo de cooperación ayuda a la población a que sea parte del crecimiento del lugar donde viven, también mencionó que casi 300 ciudadanos será los beneficiados con este pozo tubular.
Walter Tafur explicó que esta labor de servicio de la Iglesia cumple los dos grandes mandamientos que enseñó Jesucristo de amar a Dios y amar al prójimo, que Dios se acuerda siempre de todos sus hijos donde quiera que vivan.
El acceso al agua potable mejora la salud y la higiene de la familia. La Iglesia de Jesucristo con su programa de Servicios Humanitarios ayuda a las comunidades a establecer pozos y otros sistemas de agua para proporcionar acceso a agua potable.
