El nuevo Alcalde Metropolitano de Lima es arquitecto de profesión, su nombre es Miguel Eugenio Romero Sotelo, cuenta además con una maestría en Urbanismo en el Centro de Estudios Urbanos de Administración (Madrid, España) y fue decano del Colegio de Arquitectos del Perú en el período comprendido del 2000 hasta el 2002, y jurará como nuevo burgomaestre de Lima para completar el periodo 2019-2022.

Del mismo modo, Joseph Christopher Paredes Del Alcázar jurará como nuevo regidor metropolitano.

MIGUEL EUGENIO ROMERO SOTELO
Miguel Eugenio Romero Sotelo es un arquitecto y político peruano. Desde el 27 de abril de 2022 ejerce el cargo de alcalde metropolitano de Lima, de acuerdo a la línea sucesoria según la Ley Orgánica de Municipales, en remplazo de Jorge Muñoz.

Fue electo en el 2018 como teniente alcalde y regidor de la ciudad de Lima, en la lista del alcalde electo Jorge Muñoz Wells por el partido Acción Popular, como es de conocimiento público ahora se convierte en el nuevo Alcalde Metropolitano de Lima, luego de que el Jurado Nacional de Elecciones declarara la vacancia del entonces alcalde Jorge Muñoz Wells.​, por delito doloso contra la administración pública.

El vacado por el JNE Jorge Muñoz Well habría cobró tres mil soles por semana por su participación en el directorio de Sedapal lo cual fue una causal para la vacancia que presentó un ciudadano indicando que el alcalde de Lima estaba prohibido de asumir un cargo en una empresa del gobierno central siendo burgomaestre, tal como está estipulado en la ley de elecciones municipales.

El nuevo alcalde que tendrá la capital de la nación Inca, Miguel Eugenio Romero Sotelo no la tiene fácil pues enfrenta un ramillete de acusaciones por no haber declarado que ha estado relacionado a cinco empresas del sector inmobiliario y constructor, es más con una de estas al día de hoy aún mantiene un vínculo activo, paralelamente existen comprobados vínculos de su hija, su hermano y sus sobrinos con otras seis compañías que también incursionan en el rubro inmobiliario, y que serían las beneficiarias en el controvertido cambio de la zonificación del valle de Lurín, en donde ahora se proyectan millonarias inversiones industriales e inmobiliarias, donde seguramente estas empresas antes señaladas tendrán mucho que ganar.
