Cuenta con más de 25 años de trayectoria en el Ministerio Público, donde se ha desempeñado como fiscal adjunta provincial provisional en Huancavelica e Ica, y fiscal adjunta superior provisional de la Tercera Fiscalía Superior Penal del Callao.
Asimismo, como fiscal provincial titular de Lima; fiscal adjunta suprema titular adscrita al despacho de la Fiscalía de la Nación; y fiscal suprema titular de la Fiscalía Suprema Especializada en Delitos cometidos por Funcionarios Públicos.
Patricia Benavides Vargas obtuvo el primer lugar en el cuadro de méritos durante el proceso de elección de los nuevos fiscales supremos realizado por la Junta Nacional de Justicia.
TRAYECTORIA ACADÉMICA
La nueva fiscal de la Nación es abogada de la Universidad de Lima, doctora en Derecho, magíster en Derecho Penal Constitucional y magister en Derecho Civil y Comercial.
Tiene estudios de maestría en Derecho Penal, con postgrado en Garantías, Reforma y Defensa de la Constitución en la Universidad de Castilla La Mancha de Toledo-España, y postítulo en Asesoría Jurídica de la Empresa en la Universidad del Desarrollo de Chile.

Also, as titular provincial prosecutor of Lima; Chief Deputy Supreme Prosecutor attached to the Office of the Attorney General’s Office; and supreme prosecutor head of the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Crimes committed by Public Officials.
Patricia Benavides Vargas obtained the first place in the list of merits during the election process of the new supreme prosecutors carried out by the National Board of Justice.
ACADEMIC CAREER
The new prosecutor of the Nation is a lawyer from the University of Lima, doctor in Law, master’s degree in Constitutional Criminal Law and master’s degree in Civil and Commercial Law.
He has a master’s degree in Criminal Law, with a postgraduate degree in Guarantees, Reform and Defense of the Constitution at the University of Castilla La Mancha in Toledo-Spain, and a postgraduate degree in Business Legal Advice at the Universidad del Desarrollo de Chile.
