Huerta Olivas es abogado de profesión y licenciado en Administración y Ciencias Policiales, especialista en inteligencia policial y seguridad integral policial. Ha sido oficial superior de la Policía Nacional del Perú, con 35 años de servicio, tiempo en el cual se desempeñó como jefe de Equipo de Investigación de la Dirección Contra la Corrupción en apoyo al Ministerio Público.

PERFIL DEL NUEVO MINISTRO DEL INTERIOR

-Licenciado en Administración, egresado de la Universidad Nacional Faustino Sánchez Carrión, con especialización en Administración por la Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Quito – Ecuador).
-Licenciado en Administración y Ciencias Policiales, egresado de la Escuela de Oficiales de la Policía Nacional del Perú.
-Abogado, egresado de la Universidad Alas Peruanas.
-Doctor en Gestión y Ciencias de la Educación y Maestría en Docencia Universitaria e Investigación Pedagógica por la Universidad San Pedro.
-Estudios de postgrado en Derecho Administrativo y Gestión Pública por la Universidad de San Martín de Porres.

• Fue oficial superior de la Policía Nacional del Perú, con 35 años de servicio a la Nación. Se desempeñó como jefe de Equipo de Investigación de la Dirección Contra la Corrupción, en apoyo al Ministerio Público. Solicitó su pase al retiro a partir del año 2017, con el grado de coronel PNP.
  -Fue becado, representando a la Policía Nacional del Perú en la Escuela de Estado Mayor de la Policía Nacional del Ecuador, graduándose con honores como Oficial de Estado Mayor y obteniendo la condecoración de la Policía Nacional del Ecuador por esfuerzo intelectual (mérito profesional).
  -Es especialista en inteligencia policial y seguridad integral policial, y posee cursos de investigación de delitos contra la administración pública – lavados de activos provenientes de la corrupción, entre otros.
  -Ha sido jefe de la Oficina de Asesoría Legal de la Conferencia Episcopal Peruana.

  -He was awarded a scholarship, representing the National Police of Peru at the School of Staff of the National Police of Ecuador, graduating with honors as Staff Officer and obtaining the decoration of the National Police of Ecuador for intellectual effort (professional merit).
