De esta manera, EsSalud rinde homenaje a los trabajadores, entre mujeres y hombres, que desde el inicio de la pandemia y estando en primera línea, ofrendaron su vida para salvar al prójimo.
El acto fue encabezado por el presidente ejecutivo de EsSalud, Gino Dávila Herrera, y contó con la presencia de familiares de los trabajadores asistenciales y administrativos caídos en la pandemia, funcionarios y trabajadores de la institución, entre otros invitados.
“En nuestra semana de aniversario, rendimos homenaje a nuestros 237 trabajadores que ya no están con nosotros a causa de la pandemia. Que sepan que su sacrificio no ha sido en vano y quienes continuamos en la brega vamos a seguir trabajando para brindar una atención oportuna y con calidez a nuestros asegurados, que son nuestra razón de ser”, expresó el titular de EsSalud tras develar el tótem.
La ceremonia se inició con una paraliturgia que estuvo a cargo del reverendo padre Luis Núñez del Prado, paciente cero de EsSalud que permaneció casi dos meses hospitalizado (de los cuales 37 días fueron en UCI) y que logró vencer al coronavirus gracias a los cuidados y atenciones que le brindó el personal de salud del hospital Edgardo Rebagliati.
Posteriormente, se guardó un minuto de silencio en memoria del personal caído en la pandemia, acto que tuvo de fondo el toque de una trompeta que interpretó la melodía solemne.
Luego, autoridades y familiares de las víctimas colocaron rosas blancas y arreglos florales al pie del monumento como muestra de amor y respeto a la memoria de los trabajadores fallecidos.
