Gobierno creará el Instituto Nacional de Camélidos Sudamericanos del Perú, indicó presidente Pedro Castillo.

“No es solamente un derecho lo que piden ustedes, es una responsabilidad del Estado porque la riqueza que tiene el país con esta especie, con los camélidos, poco o ninguna importancia se le ha dado, más bien se nos ha ninguneado, se nos ha ignorado”, señaló el mandatario en Palacio de Gobierno tras sostener un encuentro con miembros y representantes de camelicultores de diferentes partes del país.

El objetivo de este proyecto es lograr la eficiente promoción, conservación, desarrollo, gestión, manejo y aprovechamiento de los camélidos sudamericanos.

El jefe de Estado aseguró que se hará el seguimiento respectivo para el cumplimiento de las demandas de los criadores de camélidos. En otro momento, indicó que dispondrá que el Ministerio de Desarrollo Agrario y Riego (Midagri) se traslade a las regiones para atender sus requerimientos.

Consideró importante realizar un trabajo entre el Ejecutivo y el Congreso para priorizar la preservación de los camélidos y el cuidado de su hábitat. “Si no preservamos nuestras especies, de nada va a servir la creación de un instituto, instalar una mesa o escucharlos directamente. Esto tiene que trabajarse de forma conjunta entre los dos poderes del Estado, tanto Ejecutivo como Legislativo”.

En ese contexto, manifestó su compromiso de brindar mayores oportunidades a los criadores de camélidos, impulsar la promoción y acceso a los mercados comerciales, así como contar con servicios básicos.

Participaron del encuentro el viceministro de Desarrollo de Agricultura Familiar e Infraestructura Agraria y Riego, Hugo Obando Concha y la congresista de Perú Libre, Elizabeth Taipe Coronado.

También estuvieron presentes los gremios de criadores de alpacas, llamas y vicuñas de las regiones de Puno, Apurímac, Huancavelica, Ayacucho y Pasco, en representación de más de 165,000 familias camelicultoras del país.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Development of Family Farming and Agrarian Infrastructure and Irrigation, Hugo Obando Concha, and the congresswoman from Peru Libre, Elizabeth Taipe Coronado.

Also present were the guilds of alpaca, llama and vicuña breeders from the regions of Puno, Apurímac, Huancavelica, Ayacucho and Pasco, representing more than 165,000 camel-farming families in the country.
