Acompañaron a la mandataria en esta reunión la ministra de Relaciones Exteriores, Ana Cecilia Gervasi, y el ministro de Justicia y Derechos Humanos, José Tello.
La delegación de la CIDH estuvo conformada por Tania Reneaum, secretaria ejecutiva de este organismo regional; María Claudia Pulido, secretaria ejecutiva adjunta de Monitoreo, Promoción y Cooperación, y Miguel Mesquita, coordinador de Monitoreo.
La visita técnica de la CIDH atiende a una invitación formulada por el Gobierno peruano el pasado 15 de diciembre, con el fin de contribuir a la paz, al diálogo y a la transparencia de los actos del Estado ante la situación que vive el país.
Durante la reunión, se explicó las acciones tomadas para propiciar la calma y tender puentes de diálogo, en estricto respeto de la Constitución y la institucionalidad democrática, y se gradeció la presencia de la delegación, a quien se ofreció el apoyo de las instituciones del Estado durante su estadía.
Se explicó también que es de interés del Ejecutivo adelantar las elecciones generales al 2023, decisión que se encuentra en manos del Congreso de la República.
