ADEX Y Produce scrutinize strengthening production chains and generating more decentralized jobs.

Peruvian News Agency PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe Twitter: @prensaperupe A delegation from the Association of Exporters (ADEX) held a working meeting with the Minister of Production, Sandra Belaunde Arnillas, with whom they evaluated the situation of the various sectors and the importance of promoting initiatives that help the recovery of production chains to generate decentralized jobs.

Also participating were the Vice Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Desilú León, and the Vice Minister of MYPE and Industry, Javier Dávila; and for ADEX the first vice president, Juan Arriola Colmenares; the second vice president, César Tello Ramírez; the past president, Erik Fischer Llanos and the director of CIEN-ADEX, Edgar Vásquez Vela.

At the meeting, the representatives of the business association delivered a memorandum in which they asked to urgently establish a public-private work group in order to design measures that minimize the negative impact of the sharp slowdown in the economy (global and Peruvian) on the SMEs and manufacturing industries

It should be noted that the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) projected that the growth of the world economy would go from 3.1% in 2022 to 2.2% this year. In the case of Peru, the World Bank (WB) expects an expansion of 2.6%

DIVERSIFICATION
The representatives of ADEX highlighted the difficult context in which the members of the various chains try to continue with their work. In addition to what is happening abroad, they must add internal instability, in this sense, they added that the work of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) and Produce is crucial in the diversification of the national offer and identification of more markets.

In the document delivered to Minister Belaunde, the union requested Produce’s active and purposeful participation in the sectoral roundtables established by the MEF with the aim of solving existing specific problems.

Likewise, strengthen INNÓVATE and implement an aggressive agenda for the dissemination of competitive funds at the national level that aims to broaden the base of beneficiary companies; and promote the creation of new financial instruments aimed at promoting the growth and formalization of SMEs.

An important point is to design and implement innovative strategies on industrial clusters in order to develop chains that allow adding value and technological content to natural resources (industrialization of metals, development of derivatives of agricultural products), strengthening the textile chains of cotton, wool alpaca and mixed fibers, etc.; and ensure the necessary resources (energy, water and drainage, transport routes, internet and others) for the development of activities.

The document included the pending agenda for the clothing, pharmaceutical, metalworking, jewelry and goldsmith sectors.
