Peruvian News Agency PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe Twitter: @prensaperupe Peruvian shipments abroad in 2022 (US$ 63,193 million), closed with a growth of 4%, after presenting falls in 5 of the 12 months of the year, the deepest being those of the last quarter (October -6%, November -19% and December -8%), reported the Association of Exporters (ADEX).

For internal and external reasons, the firms registered an unstable behavior in recent years. After growing 8%, 23% and 8% in 2016, 2017 and 2018 respectively, in 2019 and 2020 they contracted -2% and -11%, to then grow 48% in 2021 (rebound effect after the pandemic due to the coronavirus).

The union’s president, Julio Pérez Alván, expressed his concern about the January figures, and in particular about the effect on the export chain (workers and their families, producers, suppliers, exporters), which will be known in a month. “There is tension and concern for the welfare of workers, damage to private property and trust with international buyers,” he said.
