“Como Gobierno tenemos un plan de trabajo al respecto para ponerlo a consideración y ejecutarlo rápidamente”, sostuvo al participar en el primer proceso de destrucción de droga del año 2023, en el cual se incineraron más de 14 toneladas de estupefacientes incautados por la policía.

La mandataria aseguró que la lucha contra la inseguridad ciudadana no puede ser abordada de manera aislada, requiere de un trabajo articulado entre el Ejecutivo, los gobiernos regionales y locales, el Ministerio Público, el Poder Judicial, la sociedad civil y la ciudadanía.

Durante su discurso, la jefa de Estado indicó que la producción y consumo de drogas es uno de los mayores flagelos que enfrenta el Perú, dado que destruye física y emocionalmente a las personas, arrebata la libertad, significa dolor y sufrimiento. Por ello, el Gobierno seguirá siendo inflexible en la lucha contra las drogas.

“Si estamos acá es para hacer frente a los grandes males que han entorpecido el crecimiento y desarrollo, para proteger, por encima de todo, la salud, la vida y la integridad de las peruanas y peruanos y abrir un camino de esperanza para el país”, aseveró.

Puntualizó que las más de 14 toneladas de droga que se destruyeron son producto de un trabajo eficiente de la Policía Nacional, que parte de una decisión política firme y clara desde el más alto nivel. Fueron decomisadas desde fines de noviembre del 2022 hasta la primera semana del 2023 en diversos operativos policiales.

Asimismo, felicitó el trabajo profesional de la Policía Nacional en la lucha diaria contra la delincuencia y la criminalidad.

La incineración de droga contó con la participación del ministro del Interior, Vicente Romero, del ministro de Justicia y Derechos Humanos, José Tello, del comandante general de la Policía Nacional, Raúl Alfaro, del alto mando policial y de representantes del Ministerio Público y del Poder Judicial.
